    Hey all,

I’ve decided I want to replace my instrument cluster or as I’ve seen it called my “combination meter assembly”.

    LSS:
I replace it previous due to me being a dummy. I bought another from Tannin Auto Electronics and they sent me a jacked up one.
It’s been about a year driving on a shotty cluster.

I just want to replace it.
anyone got any idea where to get a legit one that will be programmed for my vehicle and with the correct mileage?
    Thanks.

    UPDATE:
Looks like the part is “COMBO METER 83800-0C391-RP” specific to my vehicle.
I advise to stay away from a company called “TANIN Auto Electronics”. Long story.
Toyota Dealer can’t even find the part anymore despite them referring me to it as orderable. I guess not anymore. I know of a couple parts websites that may have it but due to the factor of mileage and vehicle specificness I’m not sure it’ll work out..

    UPDATE 2:
Looked up the part number a few places. Discontinued all the way around.
Looks like I’ll have to find a repair shop or Frankenstein together 2 that I have already to get it functioning properly as a whole.

    UPDATE 3:
So I’m going to see if I can use my original cluster and make sure it works. (I took it apart one day and messed it up but thanks to the people here at tundras.com I don’t think I messed it up, just put it together wrong). Then I’m gonna take it to a guy in Palo Alto, California and he said he can program the mileage for me. it’ll probably take a few weeks but I’ll update once it’s done.

    FINAL UPDATE:
Found a reconditioned cluster online via eBay. Shout out to Your Parts Source. YPS.USA.COM. Or visit his eBay page. If you need a cluster he’s got quite a few different makes and models.

We Ensured donor vehicle matched and part numbers matched. He also worked with me on mileage as security features in the cluster only allow “close enough” mileage.
Sent it out and got it to me within a week, and he was super professional.

If anyone needs a cluster for an 05 Tundra and can figure out how to repair it, I’ve got two of em that don’t quite work right. Lol

Anyway, have a good one y’all! Project done!

You'll need to find one from an '05-'06, to be safe, I can't remember if the '04 is same or not. Later VVTi trucks have 5spd transmission so gear display is diff't.

Jeffescortlx on YouTube is how I know anything at all about instrument clusters. Shows how he diagnoses and rebuilds mostly GM clusters. Think in another post you said the needles weren't set right. He talks about the best way to set needles in a few of his videos although I dont recall which. If you're bored might be worth a watch if you're gonna do it yourself.
