I have recently moved and I can't for the life of me figure out how to reprogram my Homelink 1 button for my new garage. I held the garage remote 1inch away and held the open button while holding the Homelink button but it just flashes green, never stays solid.

Has anyone done it, and could you help a fellow Tundra owner out?

You may need to clear old codes first. There are instructions on the mirror menu to clear old codes or in owners manual.

The garage door opener may not be compatible with the newer homelink in the truck. I know my 2007 with homelink doesn't work with a new garage door opener, I had to use a bridge. No sure if that issue works in the other direction too.

on my current 2021 sequoia and my previous 2017 tundra, you clear it by pushing down the 1st and 3rd homelink buttons.
to set it, i didn't use the key fob at all for either vehicle. i have a genie garage door motor. i just have to push the learn button on the motor, hold down the homelink button (for desired door) for about 10-30 seconds and it would open. read your manual on the vehicle, but most of it will be for the garage door. my vehicle's instructions were only useful in terms of resetting/clearing the 3 garage doors. i'm sure depending on your brand of garage door opener, you can get online and find the instructions if you didn't save/have the instructions kept somewhere.

doesnt matter on the age of the garage door. i have a 1989 garage door opener i have coded to my 2014 4runner and my 2018 tundra.

from what i remember, you have to hold the remote to the mirror so it learns the code from the remote, then program the homelink button to the garage door.

your best bet is to goto homelink.com and select your vehicles and garage door setup for the correct instructions.

the toyota owner manual is way to generic for all the garage doors out there.

here are the instructions from homelink.com which is no where close to my 2014 4runner owners manual for homelink. it misses step 2 thru 3 on my 2014 4runner which was critical for programming for me.

this only applies to my specific garage door brand.

    1. For first time training, press and hold the two outer HomeLink® buttons, releasing only when the HomeLink indicator light begins to flash, which may take up to 20 seconds. (Do not perform this step when training the additional HomeLink buttons.)
    2. Position the hand-held transmitter 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink surface (usually located on your visor, overhead console, or mirror), keeping the HomeLink indicator light in view.
    3. Using both hands, simultaneously press and hold both the desired HomeLink button and hand held transmitter button. DO NOT release until the HomeLink indicator light flashes slowly and then rapidly. When the indicator light flashes rapidly, both buttons may be released. (The rapid flashing indicates successful training.)
    4. A second person may make the following steps quicker and easier. Please use a ladder or other device. Do not stand on your vehicle to perform the next steps. On the garage door motorhead, press and release the learn code button - the red LED will begin to blink.
    5. Get back into your vehicle and press the desired HomeLink button one time.
    6. Press the desired HomeLink button a second time.
    7. Press the HomeLink button a third time. You should see the garage door open/close. HomeLink programming is complete.

I figured it out, I have to change my rearview mirror to the camera mode then go to settings and then you can reset each button from there
