Has anyone found a way to reset the ECM and TCM? I tried a search and only found disconnecting the battery. But I don’t want to have to reset everything.

I wish we had the Ford equivalent of Forscan. In addition to hundreds of customizations, even tire diameter for the odometer and speedometer, you can reset each of the control modules individually. I found this very helpful with my F150 after towing a very heavy trailer through the mountains for about 1000 miles to “unlearn” the transmission adjustments.

I have a 2022 Tundra Sr5. I have made several modifications and I would like to reset my the truck so it can relearn with all the mods I have done. I don't think it is recognizing things correctly and fully adjusting to fully use all the mods capabilities.

I have heard that on Toyotas it's not good to disconnect the battery and let all power drain. It's bad for all systems to loose total power like that.

Anyone know about this stuff. We would like to know.

    Thanks for the confirmation.

So, do I have to just disconnect the negative? Or positive too and then connect the battery lead together to loop the system and drain it all?

How long should I disconnect whatever/whichever for how long... Wow I think I just confused myself... Lol

Oh... And is this resetting the ECU not the ECM OR TCM.... Whatever those are... Lol

ECU = electronic control unit or engine control unit
ECM = electronic control module or engine control module
    TCM = engine control module

basically all the same, any ECU with a powered RAM memory function will be cleared.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_control_unit

Take off the negative terminal and wait 30-60 sec.

    Couple questions to follow up.

    1. How long does it take for the ecu, or anything that has had the memory cleared, to relearn?

    2. Assume use normal driving habits... No hot rod runs?

    3. I have a JB4 in it and I run premium gas. What is the procedure with the JB4? Should I disconnect it and let the ecu learn without it so the JB4 is maximized when plugged in? Should I stop the premium gas and fill up with regular? How many tanks?

    4. I also have a peddle tuner, should I set it to stock?

    5. Additional mods are Burger Motor Sports blow off valves, S&D CIAs, AFE charge pipes and Flow Master FK exhaust.

So, now those are the mods. Hope you can speak in to what the process should be to maximize the mods and the ECU learning with the JB4 tuner.

    Thanks
