Country singer Toby Keith died Monday at the age of 62, his family wrote in a statement posted to his website and social media accounts early Tuesday.

"Toby Keith passed away peacefully last night on February 5th, surrounded by his family," the statement read.

"He fought his fight with grace and courage," it continued. "Please respect the privacy of his family at this time."

Keith revealed in June 2022 that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer.

Darn it, I was just thinking yesterday about googling any news on his condition. Very sad fate for him.

One of the good ones.

I saw Charlie Daniels and Travis Tritt live a couple of years ago. Great show! Sadly, Charlie passed away a few months later. So thankful I was able to experience a legend live.

We saw Toby Keith years ago.
It was like a rock concert, with plenty of fire, dancing girls on multiple levels of the stage, and plenty of Ford trucks..

    Great show...

Great timing: The day I picked up my 2017 Inferno Tundra was the day I took my son to see Toby play at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. My son (just the right age) loved Toby Keith and was SO excited to go to this concert with me, and to arrive in a new truck. Really excellent memory!

If anyone is ever visiting or passing through OKC/Moore, I encourage you to eat at either one of the Toby Keith's "I love this bar" restaurant locations. Really good food, quality cocktails, and a pleasant atmosphere for a reasonable price.

Toby had a lot of fun songs (and some serious ones). I'm personally not a country music person, but I wouldn't turn off his music.

    RIP Toby.

Really like his songs. He did it his way, didn't do the cookie cutter shit that Nashville is about now.

    RIP Toby. :hattip:

I even properly trained my kids to be anti-Swifty. Don't get me wrong, is she talented and a good person? I do think so. We just can't listen to cruel summer 38 times per day on clear channel radio. This year I purchased a family subscription to Spotify to help combat the Swifties.

I always figured she didn't have enough talent to sing country so she switched over to pop

No kidding. My wife would have known that. She's all country.
