Hi everyone, my 2nd gen sequoia that has a ripped leather passenger seat. The remaining leather in the rest of the truck is in great shape. Does this look like something that an upholstery shop can fix? Does anyone have a spare passenger seat with perforated graphite leather? Do they make a patch that I can cut and glue over the section? Any and all input is highly appreciated. Thanks.

You could check a pick n pull and get the whole seat.

I had a torn leather seat on my previous motorcycle and I purchased a leather / Vinyl repair kit from Amazon. I had to mix the color to match the tan seat but did the trick and held up for a few years until I sold the bike and may still be holding.

Thanks fellas, I have been scouring the local pull it yard inventory as well as Ebay for possible solutions. @CEwing, I have attempted leather repair in the past with very poor results. Is there a user friendly kit that you would recommend? Also, this leather is perforated which may add to the complexity of the job.

any good auto upholstery shop could repair or replace it with a match imo. I have seen them do wonders.

Going to cost a little more than some patch crappy fix, but you should get a quality job.

Thanks for all who chimed in. I called the local upholsterer and they want $500 to fix it. I think I’ll go with the option which @ColoradoTJ linked. Any idea if the seat shop has any coupon codes of BF sales?

If diy, good time to clean the foam underneath and shopvac the water out. You can use twist ties in lieu of hog rings + tool. Check the Katzkin diy install threads here for tips. If you’re ambitious, you can even install seat heaters from Amazon.

Kind of an obscure option, but you could do a repair, then cover the fronts in a set of Clazzios or get a full set. You can email Clazzio, they do sell seat covers separately.

I have heated and ventilated seats so I believe the only option will be the replacement seat leather and so I will be going that route. Thanks to all who have given advice; much appreciated! For now, this issue is resolved.

I have a 2002 Tundra Limited with 272,000 miles on the clock. it has leather seats that have cracked from sunlight over the years in spite of using leather wipes from Armor All on a frequent basis. The Tundra is well maintained and in excellent mechanical condition.

For the front seats I purchased Carhartt seat covers that are custom made for the Tundra. They are made of the same material as Carhartt work cloths and look and feel great. I will purchase a new Toyota some day and intend to put Carhartt seat covers on the vehicle from day 1.

Upholstery shop rates are far better than what I expected. While $500~ isn't exactly cheap, when you compare that to dealership labor rate for basic repsirs or one of my local spraying companies, fixing a high-quality leather seat (that you use and feel daily, mind you) is a steal at that price.

I went with the seat shop and finally got around to installing it today. I think it came out great and is a very close match to the original. Thanks for everyones suggestions. It ended up being $183.20 with the Black Friday discount code.IMG_5159.jpgIMG_5157.jpg

That's a much better deal than the $300-500 to buy a new OEM seat bottom cover.
