Hey guys looking for some help here. Currently have a SR5 and wanted to add rock lights and tie them into my third brake light like I’ve read on here due to being an SR5. I did everything and tapped into the white wire which actually more of an off white. Anyways ran my wire to my spod as the trigger and installed my rock lights and hit the unlock and nothing. I’m really hoping I didn’t make a good connection when tapping that wire if I did then I have no clue what I did wrong because I did the same thing to my reverse wire on my 7 pin connection and had no trouble running some rigid lights when backing up. I’m not good at wiring diagrams but I swear I put the research in before doing this though. I’ll post the pictures of the 3 wires plug that goes straight to the 3 brake light to show what I tapped into. Thank you anyone who can help.

I know you stated you don't like wiring diagrams, but it certainly looks like you have the right wire.
It seems to have a common ground as well..

The Toyota wiring is very small.
I used positaps when I installed my AMP steps and could not figure out why the passenger step wouldn't come down when I opened a door on that side.
Come to find out the positap didn't make a good enough connection with those small wires.

Do the cargo lights still come on?
Did you test that trigger lead wire with a DMM at the relay and see if it had power with the cargo lights on?

    Good luck...

So the more I think about it the only taps I had/have are the blue ones and those aren’t the correct size after reading up. My cargo light works and no I don’t have any power to the lead wire at all. I’m 90% sure it’s in the connection.
Also no expert in wiring but what does common ground mean and would that affect anything? @1lowlife?
