The initial plan was to get a molle bedside plate from Victory or caliraised, but I couldn't justify the cost.... Welllllll, this wound up costing me nearly as much, but I like the final result a lot more.
The plate is plain old 6061 1/8" aluminum with a few bends in it that I drew on cad. Sent it to a local shop and they knocked it out quickly.
I used 4x 1/4-20 rivnuts for the bottom and stainless hardware and 3x 10-32 screws up top where I tapped the thin-walled bed bulkhead. About 90% of the weight and support comes from the bottom hardware.
I bought 2 of the regular rotopax mounts and bolted them up with new stainless carriage bolts.
Everything sits only about 1/2" off the bulkhead and the top of the tank sits just inside the lip above it. And there's enough room below to still slide in a few sheets of sheetrock or plywood.
I always have the option to add the mount extenders and put on additional fuel or water in the 2 gallon sizes.
