    537613E9-75D8-46ED-BA98-EEA0BB904B97.jpg Hello everyone,
I recently installed 6”Rough Country lift kit with front coilover on my 2020 4x4 Toyota.
They did not mention nothing to me regarding the installation. Before I made the purchase I asked if any chopping involves, they told me no chopping necessary.
Today I looked underneath the truck and was shock!! To see the crossmember cut out. The replaced it with the Rough Country kit.
I felt deceived and feel like the truck no longer safe. It looks really nice though. This is normal? 537613E9-75D8-46ED-BA98-EEA0BB904B97.jpg

At least it looks good. I’d be upset and feel you have recourse.

ps Not a fan of those running boards

Yes, anything over3-4 will require chopping of the cross member for clearance of the transverse case...3 or 3.5 in lift doesn't require any modifications!!!
Truck looks killer and you should be fine... Enjoy the ride!

I had a 2014, but the RC kit was an older version, my RCM is not cut, only thing I did was take out the front spacers and replace with the RC coiled extended struts, much better ride

My ProComp 6" lóoks just like yours.

    You'll be fine. Nice rig.

My truck sees plenty of dirt roads without issue.

BTW, Are you on RC's 6" coilovers w/ resi?

    How's the ride?

Yes that is normal. You have to chop that crossmember on chevys and fords with a 6" lift too.

2020 must be different from 2016. I have a RC 6" on mine and no chopping?

No safety concerns whatsoever. Looks like they got a nice clean cut on it, can't believe after that nice cut they didn't take a minute to shoot it with some black spray paint to prevent rust.

They asked me to return after 10days to re-inspect. So I’m here now and the will paint it.
    They confirmed it’s safe.

    thanks again

I dived down in it to get all the information.
Only for 4x4 require cutting to clear the differential. For 2 wheel drive no cutting needed.

As others have stated, it is completely normal for a 6" lift on a 4x4 Tundra to have the cross member cut and the frame integrity is not compromised by it. My 2018 has the Pro Comp 6" lift installed, with cut cross member and no issues. Granted, it sucks that you did not know before hand and you did not get to make an informed decision. But, as my suspension guy told me, if you ever want it back to stock, a replacement cross member can be welded back in with no problem. Anyway, enjoy your lift. It looks great!
