Recently purchased the 1.75" leveling kit from Rough Country. The spacers are made of plastic though. Has anyone installed these before and had any issues? Curious if they will work or if I should go with steel.

I have them and so far they have been good since early 2023 when they were installed, I do have Westcott 1" spacers in the rear and they are aluminum.

I don't see them causing any issues with the truck. I have had the truck in for service a few times and the techs have not mentioned anything either.

I have them on the front. Nothing on the back. I did it myself and it was not terrible. You do need a spring compressor kit, so be careful there. There are times I feel like the front may have a slight height over the back but other times I do not see it. I have been in some pretty tough off road situations since I put it on with no issues.

I put them on a year ago. Also have 1" Cornfed in the back. Did them both myself. No problems so far, but I don't beat it to death off-road either.

@tuns_o_fun I've seen a few people say they added a lift in the back. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the leveling kit? I do want to put larger tires on my tundra, likely 35x12. Do i need to do anything to the rear end?

I put a 1" spacer in the back mainly for towing as it helps keep it more level with the weight on the back.

I have about 400 lbs of stuff on the back of the truck as well with my cover, rack, tent and bike racks. Still nice and level with all this stuff on the truck.

Not all Tundra suspensions are the same. My front was about 1/2" higher than the back after the leveling kit. I suppose I could have lived with it, but nope. I pull a bass boat and other trailers and didn't want a ridiculous squat with just a few hundred pounds on the tongue. Therefore, it looks correct with the back a 1/2" higher than the front. Plus, my headlights aren't pointed at the sky when towing.

As an aside, after the leveling kit, I put on 285/75 r18s which are just a c-hair shy of 35" and a wheel with a +30 offset. No excessive poke nor inside tire rub which is exactly what I was going for.

Good point, the TRD Off Road suspension is different than the non-TRD suspension.

At least the OP (being in Canada) only get's 2 options with a Limited trim so it is easy to figure out. If it isn't Bilstein shocks, it will be Hitachi (I think). Those can behave differently with the levelling kit and ride height that you get.

Mine is running on 34" tires and with the level, I had to get the running boards on to avoid sliding out of the truck and wrecking the seats.

I am not too sure if the headlight levelling switch is typical? I have the switch and can tilt my lights down when towing to avoid landing aircraft on the highway!

I put RC 1.75 level on front & nothing on rear. Rear sits abot 1/2" higher as it sits. Just needed an alignment & it's perfect.20241011_155426.jpg

Update. So i tried installing the kit over the weekend. Had no luck as i need a spring compressor to twist the spring/strut to lineup with the lower control arm bracket after installing the spacer. I did see a video online where someone was able to twist the bottom of the strut to make it fit. Has anyone tried this? I tried and wasn't able to move it at all. And after trying this on the driver side, the truck now pulls to the left and needs an alignment.
