    Hey y'all,

Was leaving the house and heard a minor thunk. Looked in the rearview and saw this piece of something following me. Any idea what this piece of rubber is or where it came from? My truck is a 2011 DC 4x4.

    Thanks.

I wonder if it was already in the road. I don't recognize it. No vibrations or anything after?

No noise/vibration at all. I ended up driving for about 2 straight hours afterwards and didn't notice anything

I would think that would rule out an engine or tranny mount dampener. No part numbers on it anywhere?

Didn't see one. Here's the other side, only identifying parts I can see are the rubber studs that look like they mount in something. Didn't see anything in the rear suspension missing either.

That really looks like either a transmission mount, or an engine mount.... part number is probably on the missing half. It looks like the motor mount on my MR2 that was held at the subframe to be honest... Top half may still be held by the bolt... I can post a picture later today when i get home from work...

Trans mount was one of my first thoughts but it doesn't look anything like the OEM replacements I've seen. Same thing for the motor mounts.

Pop the hood and have someone rev the engine. If it’s moving around a lot it might be part of a motor mount. Idk if this will work, but I’d get underneath and shake the transmission around and see too.

Maybe the other question we should be asking is, do you have another vehicle?? if no, then someone else's car may have dropped it there....

It does seem more FWD though... main reason I mentioned my MR2...

So that's totally possible. The sound happened maybe 100' out of my driveway on the street. That's when I saw the piece. No question it could be from another vehicle, I just figured the expertise on a forum like this means someone will probably ID it. Easier than hitting up every other car forum hoping someone knows. I'm fine if it's someone else's motor mount on the ground...

You should be good, if it wasn't on your driveway.... on the road is someone else's problem, most likely soon...

Like I said, I did 2 hours on the highway without feeling or hearing anything, drove on some backroads in the snow with the 4 wheel on. Didn't notice anything at all.
