    Hello,

Hoping to gain some additional knowledge on the topic that I seem to be lost on...

I have a 2023 Tundra 4x4 SR5 Double Cab with a 6.5ft bed. We bought running boards to attach to the vehicle (2022-2024 Toyota Front & Right Dual Assist Steps Running Boards Tundra (PT767-34220) and of the 4 brackets on the boards, the most rearward bracket has no bolt or mounting point to attach to on the vehicle. All the parts sites say that this fits my make and model but I'm concerned about the lack of proper mounting points. I did come across an additional part number (PT767-34221) but unable to locate any pics of the mounts. Curious if anyone else has had the same issue and what was done to resolve it.

If anyone has photos of the mounting brackets installed on these running boards that would be helpful. Is this even the right part to begin with? Appreciate any discussion.

    Kevin

Not sure if this picture answers your question but i have the same setup, doublecab 6.5 bed.

    Hi Wade,

Thanks for the pic. Definitely helpful. Would you be able to send a pic of the mount near the rear wheel as well as the part number for your boards?

I’m currently in flight somewhere in the north pacific! If nobody else provides you a pic and you can wait a coupke of weeks i will crawl under there and get good pics of the mounting points. I was just showing that there are 4 mounting points, just not equally spaced and quite a ways from the back. Looking at the part number it says its for a crew cab, but ive read elsewhere the wheelbase on the 6.5 double is the same as the wheelbase on the 5.5 crew. Dont quote me though. As for my part numbers, these boards were factory installed but if i see a number i will add it to the reply.

Awesome, thank you for the insight. Will look to swing by the dealer on Monday to see what info they may have.

    Safe travels

    Hi TexasCableda,

Funny enough, that is the site I ordered from and I have the same doc but the fitment is not correct for the part that they shipped.

Will post pics this weekend with the part and the mounts I see on the truck.

This is a post from another parts thread but I had a similar issue when ordering running boards for my Crewmax.

    Here are the correct labels:
    • D-Cab = CrewMax
    • C-Cab = Double Cab
These "C" & "D" labels are merely designations in the Toyota parts system and DO NOT equal Toyota's marketing labels.

I think you have the incorrect running boards.

Sounds like you got the wrong running board. Bed size doesn’t matter. The running board mounts to the cab. It’s the cab size that matters. You gotten a Crew max boards when you got a double cab. Part number: PT767-34220 are for crew max.

The double cab TRD aluminum running board is part# PT767-34221.
