Lost my Mom tonight. She passed peacefully with God in her heart. Having trouble and needed an outlet, so I came here.

I’m sorry man. Losing someone is always hard, especially a parent. Just remember the good times and memories you had with her.

Also, make sure you have a good outlet. Try not to dwell on what has already happened and focus on doing something constructive to keep your mind occupied if needed.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
I’m really sorry to hear that. I’ve lost a parent it’s not easy. You’ll get through it, just one day at a time.

It's never easy to lose a loved one. I'm sorry for your loss. It feels cheap to say that, but grief is something that seldom has a salve. It always hurts, but you can get through it.

7-2-2010 for me. As well, my mom had spent the years of her illness getting closer and closer to God. I felt peace knowing where she was going. Its still hard dude. Sorry for your loss, reach out if you need anything.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. It's tempting to think about regretful times that you would like to have a second chance at, but try to focus instead on all of the good times you had with her. It does get easier over time.

It's a hollow feeling when you lose a parent. Always remember the good in your Mother and try your best to teach the young those values. That way a part of your loved one will live on for eternity.

I wish I could offer more than words, but words can sometimes be powerful. With time the wound will heal. Try to remember the good times and let the laughter and joy you experienced together shine some light in your darkness.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Got funeral arrangements made yesterday. Particularly tough time but periods of relief because I watched her suffer the last few years due to poor health. I am at peace knowing she is no longer in pain, living her best life, and back with her Dad, Brother, and Granddaughter (my niece). We spoke years ago about spreading her ashes in one of her favorite places, Siesta Keys, FL. One of our fondest memories we had together was during this vacation when I was younger, spoke of it many times. I'll be heading there sometime soon to send her off.

Hoping for no wind that day. I say this because we laughed about this happening. Morbid- probably, our humor- yes. Much love to everyone in this thread.

Thank you Bruce for your encouragement. Looking through pictures this week has brought a lot of happy and sad tears. It's amazing those moments in time may feel insignificant, but in the end it's something that will be cherished forever.

Sounds like you've been a good son. When you're able and if you feel so inclined, tell us a favorite memory of Mom. Those fond memories will carry you through and keep her close.

I caused my parents many years of heartache and pain... (Substance abuse issues)

When I finally pulled my head outta' my ass and got sober, one of my greatest joys and motivators was trying to make up for it, and to make them proud and show them that they did in fact do it right... instilling in me the character and qualities they were trying to during all those years of banging their heads against my wall.
I didn't come close to even, but had a good 20 years before she passed.

My Mom loved everything Snoopy, collecting lots of Snoopy stuff. (Which I'm now carrying on)

When she said she wanted to have a big 90th birthday party at the church she'd attended for over 60 years... I knew what I had to do.

Turns out you can't see very well out of a giant Snoopy head... I almost took out some poor little old lady making my entrance.

Condolences buddy. It's tough, but hang in there. At least you were there. My advice to anyone is stay close to family or you will regret it. My dad passed away in 2018 and the last time I saw him was right at 20 years prior to that due to being active duty and on the road alot.
