My new truck keeps posting a Seat Adjustment message on start up that requires a yes or no answer. How can this be removed?

Did you figure this out or is the message still an issue?

PDI is the pre delivery inspection checklist the dealer needs to run through to make sure these settings and adjustments are completed and that everything is working correctly before they give you the vehicle. Among other things. IOW your dealer missed this one.

Perhaps someone can explain what the dealer should have said, step by step.

Does your seat beep every time you hit the adjustment buttons on the side of the seat? If so the seat needs to be calibrated which is part of the pre delivery inspection. It’s pretty easy to do and there are a couple of threads detailing the instructions.

I've noticed this as well on my truck. Doesn't do it all the time, but probably 75% of the time at start up.

Wait is this why I get random beeps? I don’t get a message, but I get some random beeps fairly regularly that I can’t figure out why. Not enough to be annoying, but I do wonder what they are for.

Do you have memory settings that don’t work either? It means the seat wasn’t calibrated when it was delivered. I believe the sequence is to put the ignition in acc mode, then move the seat backwards all the way and wait a sec once it stops, then all the way forwards. Then move it up all the way, down all the way, and then lean the back of the seat forward all the way and backwards. Once you finish this, I think it beeps to let you know it’s done. Also make sure your key fob is linked to your profile first.

My memory settings work just fine. I just get weird random beeps with no message to tell me why.

Holy crap its annoying! 75% of the time it asks me twice if I want to adjust my seats. Definitely bringing it up with the dealer...

As stated above. Probably not calibrated during PDI. This solved my problem of memory not working and the annoying beep when moving the seats. Also solved the “do you want to adjust your seat” message.

Hi all, glad i found this thread. One update as there were a few different ways described in here and i tried all of them with no luck. What seemed to ultimately work on my truck was to adjust the seat fully in every direction (back/forward, up/down in front, up/down in back, and lean top forward/back. There didn't seem to be a timing or order to it. When i did the last one it stopped beeping and the memory function now works.

My issue with it is that I did what was suggested in that TOYOTA video with my driver's seat. Memory seat operates normally I would say but I am still getting the message every other day or every three days :monocle:

    Will do @ryanwgregg
Is this required only with driver’s seat or passenger’s too?

I must be doing something wrong because there are no buzzer sounds confirming the sequence. I guess I will wait for the service appointment.

There's no buzzer. You're listening for a .5 second beep after you hit the memory button and then the 1st or 2nd setting button. Hope that helps.

This is a perfect example of over engineering. Electric seats have been in cars for the last what 80 years?
Its been about 60-70 years so have seats that go up down forward and back.

What the heck do we need to program all this to just adjust a seat?

Probably not over engineered, just different. It does have to be indexed, which the dealer should do but I doubt it's got limit switches and all the assorted wiring.
