First and foremost, new member here, have always loved all things Toyota especially the communities surrounding them. I tried searching on this forum, FB, YT, to no avail. In the process of replacing my entire interior, long story short, didn’t realize the level of separation anxiety our pit bill has that we rescued, tore everything up.

I had originally purchased leather seats out of an ‘01’-04 style Sequoia(driver/passenger power w/airbags) not realizing they don’t simply just plug in… is there a tutorial, YT video, or some sort of write up that can walk me through how to alter the plugs/wiring, or should I just track down the right seats?

appreciate any and all info you all may have

There are EWDs here on the forum (electrical wiring diagrams) for Sequoia and Tundra, so you can hopefully figure out what wires are what and just re-pin the OEM connectors.

    Tundras: https://www.tundras.com/threads/ultimate-tundra-wiring-diagrams-collection.81448/
    Sequoia: https://www.tundras.com/threads/ultimate-sequoia-wiring-diagrams-collection.111234/

That's honestly your best bet. Since some wire colors changed between years and models, you're better off relying on your self and not someone else's input.

@shifty` , thanks for the reply, I’ll take a look at those, ironically was looking on carparts.Com and found nice leather seats out of an ‘07 sequoia which from what I’ve read are plug and play with the ‘06 DC, gonna check them out tomorrow and if they’re good just grab those and sell these to whoever needs a nice set of seats

Yup, DC and Sequoia are practically siblings. AC and RC are practically siglings. AC/RC and DC/Sequoia are more like 1st cousins.

I just put in '07 Sequoia front buckets into my '06 DoubleCab. There are a few different versions of seats from the Sequoia and a couple different versions of Tundra seats as well.
    • Leather or fabric
    • Side airbag or non- side airbag
    • Electric vs manual
    • Seat heater or non-seat heater
Though not all those were individual selections--for instance, if it got leather, then it was electric. But you could have electric fabric seats (at least in the Sequoia, not sure on the Tundra).

Sequoia only got front buckets--no bench. Tundra could have a bench front seat.

I originally had manual fabric front bucket seats w/airbag in my '06 DC. I wanted power seats as they have more adjustability vs the manual seats. I could've swore I test drove a 1G Tundra that had fabric electric seats once, but in my quest for electric fabric Tundra seats to swap in, I could find no evidence that the Tundra had that option. I could find info on either manual fabric seats, or leather electric seats. But the 1G Sequoia def got fabric electric seats, cause thats what I found and bought: '07 bucket seats with electric, with fabric, and with side airbag.

If you've currently got side airbag seats, you'll want replacements with side airbag. Or you'll get an airbag error light on the dash you get to deal with (live with it, or trick/bypass it).

The seats were plug-n-play. Bolted right in. Airbag system is satisfied. Sequoia seatbelt receivers worked perfect with the Tundra seatbelts (read that older 1st Gens have to swap the receiver). And connectors all connected up.

However, since mine was originally manual seats, the only issue is there is no 12V power to the seat motors on the passenger side. For whatever reason, there is 12V ran for power to the motors on the driver's side, just not the passenger. Easy enough to run power over there under the carpet from the driver's side though. I suspect it's prob good to go if you originally had power seats in the Tundra to begin with.

I can honestly say that I don't like my split bench on my '05 DC. Would love some nice bucket seats. I might have to check into the Sequoia seats, or another option. Would love having an actual center console to store more than a set of keys in, and a handful of other things.
