So, I got the secondary Air Pump Relay Failure error on my 2011 4.6L truck yesterday. I hooked up my reader and I had two codes, P0418 and P2445. The first one was that the relay had failed. I started my search for the relay and information on here. What I found here is not encouraging as far getting Toyota to cover the expense. Before I start replacing the Air Pumps, I figured replace the relays first. So, after searching here, the manual, looking at the fuse box under the hood I cannot locate a relay. Where I find that it is supposed to be is empty or not there inside the fuse box.

I am hoping that someone on here can help me find the relay and get some suggestions on replacing the air pumps.

    TIA.

Thanks, I will take a look at that. My understanding is that if the truck has been flashed, don't recall the correct term, that I cannot do this. I am not sure how to find out if the truck has been flashed or not. Thanks though I will check that out.

Secondary Air Injection System Bypass Kit
@frichco228 We appreciate your recommendation. @2011_Tundra I wanted to provide some information about the Gen 2 Bypass Kit. Please note that it is compatible with with Toyota's Most recent flashes.

Gen 2 kit emulates the operation of the SAIS and ECM reads as Ready/Completed. It also eliminates all trouble codes dealing with the SAIS with the exception of the pressure sensor. Installs at the Air Injection Driver and Air Switching Valves.

+ Covers both mechanical and Electrical SAIS error codes

+ Compatible with Toyota's current ECM Computer flash

+ Compatible with Flex Fuel Modes

    + Clears permanent codes

The only codes it would not address is any related to damaged pressures sensor. If you had a damaged pressure sensor then a kit addon would be required. That said, the Gen 2 Bypass Kit and two Pressure Sensor addon would be a full delete kit of the SAIS. The only thing we require in good working condition after installation of the full delete kit is the Vehicle’s Factory Wiring and ECM. I have also included a link to a thread providing more details about the Gen 1 & Gen 2 Bypass kits.
