Hope this isn't a dumb question but I'm currently about to order my front king 2.5s this week and going with a 17 inch wheel and 37s mid travel set up. Im am planning on getting Icon rebounds and have read and read the vast info on suspension here but will +25 offset rub or have any effect with a secondary shock plan on getting the secondary set up in a few months but want to get the right wheel the first time mainly seen where multiple people recommend the rebounds but cant to be sure they won't affect the secondary again sorry if it's a dumb question lol

you wont rub the shock at all, i rub the shock hoop for the secondary shock a little at full turn and articulating. the TC hoops welds further back towards the cab on the frame..the icon shock hoop bolts up closer to the front of the truck..id go with the icon hoop if you havent purchased already. then you shoudnt have any clearance issues. im on 37 toyo RTs

You were one of the people I was hoping would comment as your set up is almost the same thing I'm trying to do. I havent purchased the secondary yet was going to try and stay all total chaos expect the rear when I upgrade with the camburg mounts later on I'll have to look into the icon tho I haven't really read into those yet

as you can see in the pics the red circled is where @KevinK secondary hoop mounts, use the hole/notch thats also circled in the red mark on the frame as reference if you wanna go look in your wheel well and you can see in the 2nd pic the blue circle is approx where the TC secondary hoop mounts and this is where i rub at full lock. i also circled it below the king resi on the 3rd pic, its just hard to see.k1.jpg k2.jpg z1.jpg

also its a very light rubbing, hardly noticeable. but with the icon you wont rub at all and the icon is completely bolt on so if you have to remove it you can. i thought i was going to have to cut my secondary hoop off in order to get my long tube headers in, with the icon i could have just unbolted it. running stock length LCA and the same size bypassess i dont think you should run into any mounting issues, but call to verify first

If you were to go back again would you go with the icon? Wonder if there's any difference in performance between the two set ups? King shock on a icon mount ect... the bolt on effect would be nice for like you said if you have to remove it for anything

I would have gone with the icon secondary shock hoop, just because its removable and seems to mount in a place that wont cause tire interference. i still would have run king or fox shocks with the icon shock hoop

    What @zackbremer says.

I'm not sure if there's any noticeable difference in shock length between the two different hoops though. Or if the bypass tubes on a King shock will ride too close to the UCA with an ICON hoop. It could be worth measuring.

here's a quick video of ours for clearance reference:

you can get kings clocked in any direction, so just clock em towards the cab and you should be good

Thanks for the video KevinK and the pictures zachbremer this definitely has me reconsidering the shock hoops to icon now
Zachbremer are you still running the total chaos uppers? Do you think they'll have the clearance

yup still running the total chaos uppers no clearance issues, and the alignment is perfect. ill text @KevinK and get some measurements this weekend..the weld on gussets go to the same spot on the LCA so the upper mount has to be in the same area, i dont think it would angle your bypass towards the upper arm. but we will measure and find out

Seems like it would pretty identical then as far as clearance but I appreciate yall checking as I dont have anyone around my area that would be running that kind of setup. And glad to hear alignment numbers are perfect with the total chaos uppers I'm hoping to start installing in the next 3 weeks

I have started to look into adding a King secondary shock / bypass and looked at the Icon shock hoop do you know which King shock / bypass will work with the Icon shock hoop?

I wonder if you could do this with a TRD Pro shock, using the rear TRD Pro as the secondary up front.
