I did the Sequoia part number which is a brushless motor and puts out more volume at the highest setting. This will be my 4th blower motor in 8 years. The bearing starts to go and you get a tick. I'm hoping this upgrade fixes it for more than 2 years.

Here is a short youtube video with details and part numbers. Highly recommend if you live in a hot/humid climate

Rock Auto has a blower for 76 bones and the housing looks IDENTICAL to the black stock blower from your video. Ironically, they advertise this motor as brushless as well. I do agree the fan output in CFM in these Tundra sucks. Someone should do a cfm test before and after blower replacement

Circling back to this, the fan output in my 2001 Sequoia will blow your hair off. As will, the blower in the wife’s Lexus. She drives the Tundra and asks me how to turn the blower speed up and it already was maxed out.

Sequoia blower motor part number is 87103-0C051. The wiring connector would require mod if this motor used in a Tundra due to power wires being swapped. @e30cabrio documented this issue.

87103-60481 and 87103-60560 are the Land Cruiser part numbers that are plug and play in a Tundra.

Video refers to the blower upgrade as Sequoia, but he correctly uses the Land Cruiser blower motor instead (best option since no modification required).

Either way, if the new blower has the same CFM rating, I won’t waste my time changing it.

There is another thread where some have found an increase in air flow.

I think of these alternate parts as what to use when or if the original motor bites the dust.

I know someone else did a pre/post measurement but this is the most recent. Looks like at least +10% air flow.

Super cool. Thanks for the info. Looks like it would be worth it.

A 10% gain would be worth the swap
