Has anyone swapped in an auto up/down rear window switch out of a sequoia? I’d be curious to know if it’s compatible with gen 2.5 tundra

Looked up the wiring diagram for the connector for the 21 tundra and the 2013 sequoia that this switch came out of and the connector is the same, hopefully it’s plug and play, so as long as the pin orientation didn’t change then we should be in business!

My 2010 SR5 Tundra has the same switch as my 2013 Sequoia.

I've been curious about this as well. My wife's 13 platinum Sequoia has this switch and wondered if it would work in my 14 tundra. Please let us know!

I was chatting with my foreman and he was looking over the wiring diagram and he said it might not work because the sequoia has a body control ecu in the rear hatch that the rear window switch communicates with. We talked about how the body control ecu is in the hatch more than likely to handle the rear wiper, lift actuators for the hatch and the key control for the rear window roll down feature. The more we looked at the wiring diagram the less sure we were about the Body control handling the auto up/down feature.

I showed him the aftermarket auto window switches that you can get which eludes to the fact that the auto up/down is a feature of the switch and not the body control ecu.

not to mention the sequoia auto up/down switch cost damn near 300 dollars, while the tundra switch cost about 70 bucks. I’m assuming the sequoia switch has some sort of two-stage button and or an integrated relay.

I have high hopes this will work, 65 dollar used switch from eBay should arrive next week so stay tuned!

Seriously though, the thought never crossed my mind for my 2016 but if this works, when I'm relocating it to the center console, I'll swap mine too!

Fuel delete mod Cup holder upgrade
Probably handled by a control module. May be able to use a timed latch circuit to add the functionality without reprogramming the CM.

I should wire this into my rear window extension cabling when I relocate the rear window button to center console! I'm loathe to cut any stock harness wiring like this seems to ask for, but damn if I won't customize a plug-and-play harness all day any day.

A bit of a shot in the dark, but if you have not already, you might try the power window normalization routine that Toyota auto windows require after swapping the battery. If the logic is in the switch, it may just need the normalization performed first. Here is a 4Runner, but same routine: (63) Normalizing Toyota Automatic Power Windows - YouTube
