I’m dealing with a shake that is annoying me. Truck has 4500 miles and shaking is in front. Dealers have balanced, rotated and done an alignment but no luck.

Can the dealer replicate it? At 4500 miles you should still be under warranty correct?

Very weird. This was a common occurrence on FJs, but I've not heard of it on a Tundra. You may want to bounce over to FJ Cruiser Forums and search their "shimmy" threads. May lead you in the right direction.

If different than original equipment, please describe tires and wheels on the truck.

I estimate 80% of steering vibration problems (without brake application) are due to wheel unbalance. Just because your dealer's tech or tire/wheel subcontractor has gone through the motions, does not mean that your wheels are balanced. Rotating component balance is a process to perfection; tire/wheel imbalance standards are much lower than those for a gas turbine rotating assembly for obvious reasons.

Forget the dealer, and take your truck to a specialty tire store like Discount for balancing, or a front suspension specialist for balancing and alignment. The alignment was probably fine before, but is now possibly compromised by ineffective amateurish tinkering.

Well I’m just getting better news day by day. So when I purchased the truck I was told they accidentally curbed the wheel and take it home with a spare and a new wheel would be dropped of. I called the dealers asking what exactly happened to see if that could’ve caused something since the dealer says the left side wheel and tire show impact and wheels scratched. The right wheel was curbed. After talking to the store manager turns out from what they told me they were on a test drive and somehow the right tire popped and that’s all they are telling me. Is there a way I can push for them to swap the wheels?

If they curbed the wheels?...Absolutely. And, preferably before you spend any more money trying to fix the problem.

What kind of wheels and tires are they? I read some posts recently that Falken are bad about it and wheels need to be hub centric if they aren't oem. Lug centric can be done but torque specs have to be on the money

The tire popped? There could be more damage that a ruined tire and wheel. Check suspension components and ball joints for wear/play.

Not a Tundra, but my old Honda Accord had low profile tires. I swear after parking overnight I could feel the "flat spots" on those tires for the first mile or so of driving when the temp was below 50* or so. Really never noticed it after I was no longer concerned about it.

Bridgestone tires and they are 20s. I feel it’s going to be a he said she said thing since truck has about 4500 on it and it’s been 3-4 months. The problem was I lived 3 miles from work so never went over 40-50. Now I moved and it’s a 10 miles drive but on the freeway. This was just for work but now I’m having issues since I’ve taken it on the freeway. Put in a report with Toyota consumer relations but no response as of yet. Been 2 weeks.

Good advice. I have had numerous toyota/lexus cars and had shake issues with each of them but was always able to resolve by finding a good aligment tech and/or swapping rims/tires (lexus sc430 kept bending rims). Had my 2018 tundra start giving me the "66" mph shakes. Started with good alignment (took 2 tries for them to get road drift right with caster offset) then i had to rotate each tire one by one to find a tire that is not balanced well and still casued shake. Put that tire on the back until i get back to tire shop for balance but my ride is smooth again at all speeds. Something about toyota suspension or bushings that magnify shakes in steering wheel vs other makes.
