I am looking at a custom size value minibarn or Gambrel roof shed with a 10 foot Gambrel side which will be 6 ft deep.

I am trying to keep the transaction to a certain price because I am getting my stone house foundation repointed at the same time but wondering if the 4 foot tall sidewall will make it feel cramped over time vs an A frame or if people feel like the gentle roof slope makes up for it. Basically wondering if I should make the jump to another A frame and eat an extra 600-plus dollars.

It would hold a push mower, heavier duty snow blower, weed wacker and a few smaller things. I don't foresee doing major work or projects inside of it, it's just to de clutter my garage.

Site visit to price removal of the rotted one and foundation setup is Tuesday. The footprint will be a couple feet wider than what I have, I just am worried about feeling like I'm stepping into a doll house after a few years due to the profile. Only got to see it from the outside last weekend but will get into a display one this week.

It is not the one in the pic but that's the style

I can't speak to that roof style, my guess is the near vertical slope would be fairly roomy but hard to say till you get in one.

I will say to check Costco if you haven't already, we got a screaming deal on ours there.

This was some years ago ('13 or '14) so probably gone up some, but we paid $1,500 for an 8' X 10' with a 10 year warranty, delivered and assembled on site, including roofing shingles.

Most others at that price point were unassembled on a pallet dropped at the curb, 2 or 3 year warranty, and no shingles.

Kid that built it did a good job and played with my dogs a bit while he was here.

I put up a barn style, 8'x12', 18 years ago. Just like you we mainly use it to store All the holiday decorations some tools, our wellhead and all the well controls are inside also. It has worked out great for us.

I don't have a mini barn style, but I bought an 8x7 resin shed from Costco. I was looking at a 6x5, and I'm glad I opted for the bigger size.

I'm a short 5'8 so walking inside doesn't make me feel cramped. Height of my shed is 7' at its tallest point and 6' at its lowest. The actual interior space is about 7' x 6.5'. My goal was also to declutter my garage and I feel like this did the job well. I still have some room left over for other things.

I pulled the trigger on a 10 wide gable by 6
Deep minibarn unit with a stone foundation bordered by pressure treated wood. I stood in one. Biggest draw back the way the sides are is more limited wall storage options above waste level. High shelves aren't really doable with the rafters coming down like that. Maybe some hooks.

But all I mainly keep in it besides bigger machines are rakes and shovels. I can bolt hooks or racks onto the 4 foot height horizontal bracing to organize that stuff. I can also build a waist level shelf onto it on one end. But the Biggest thing I want is mower, snow blower and hitch bike rack out of my tiny garage.

Seems like the right option if I am not looking to cram a bunch of smaller stuff into it that is more conveniently left on higher shelf space. That will mostly stay in the garage.

I have a minibarn style shed right now in our back yard; pretty beat up and rotted. Need a bigger space so I am going to tear it down this spring and rebuild on a bigger footprint. I won’t do the minibarn style again - as you alluded to, the lack of shelving options is a non starter for me. I had the regular shed style on our previous property and I put a loft in the rafters to store seasonal stuff.

we had a beautiful a frame style shed installed after we moved in on a gravel pad with stone retaining wall on the side of our house by our addition. We don’t have an HOA. The day after it was installed the county inspector knocked on the door and threatened to fine us if we didn’t move it immediately. Apparently a neighbor reported us for a zoning violation (still don’t know what it was but has something to do with offset from the property line and the fact that it’s technically on our side yard, but the addition doesn’t count according to the way that the zoning reads….). This county is BRUTAL. The shed matches the housing vinyl, shutter and shingles perfectly. I spent over $600 to apply for the proper permits that we didn’t know we needed and they were denied both times. Lesson learned but I pitched a fit. They don’t care - just wanted the money.

Anyway, the kits are not that hard to build and can save you a little money. I am looking at just expanding the footprint of the backyard shed now and won’t be bothered since it is behind a 7ft shadow box style fence. I use the gravel pad to park my trailer, riding mower and motorcycle now. I am half tempted to just fill it with yard debris and the trash cans and such and ugly it up so whoever reported us can stew in their overzealous shit…..but I digress.
