So I have a code P0983 high resistance in my 2008 tundra. I’ve done some research and it seems it’s either the solenoid or the tranny itself. All of the other people that have this code also cannot go past 4th gear… I can. In fact, it drives totally normal besides the Christmas tree on the dash I get. Without dropping the pan, is there anything I can do to make it stop coming up on the dash? Lights on/blinking: cel, tsc, vsc, and 4LO

I have same thing on my 08 CM
Only happens once a blue moon, dealer confirmed it's solenoid D.
Rusted bolts are preventing me from dropping pan.

When mine does it I remove terminals from battery, sit a minute and reconnect
Not the best but "fixes" for me. And let me know how often it comes up.

Sometimes it won’t come up for a few drives/3ish days. And some days I clear it and it comes back 15 mins later. I mean heck, it did it this morning. Seems to do it when it rains or is very humid. Humidity? A/C leaking on it? Rain water? Whatever it is I think it may be outside the transmission, but I don’t know not looking how the wires are ran. Like I said, it’s weird that I still have all gears whereas other people cannot get past 4th gear.

Best I can tell when mine does it I have all 6 gears.
Still new to me and I don't drive it much but next time I'll test the manual gear setting to ensure all 6 are still there.
I'll have to find the code as my cheapie reader doesn't pick it up but dealers did.
