Are there any options to replace the shifter knob? See a bunch of stuff on Amazon but they all look like they’d be too tall. The shaft is way too long to make sense for an automatic with no button. Just want something more low profile.

I have the silver TRD shift knob. It came on my truck from the dealership. I think it looks much better than the factory shift knob.

Is it possible to remove/replace/modify the shifter pole itself?

Buy the black one and sell the silver one. That's what I did.

I have not found a way to do that. You'd have to remove the assembly, take it apart, remove the shaft, cut it, machine it down, then re-thread it. You'd need a lathe.

Back when I had my candy, I just used a hack saw to cut the threads down to shorten it and threaded a Lexus is250 knob on it.

May be an option to cut it down (but I guess that would only shorten it slightly) if you don’t like the look of the shift knob options that fit

I have the TRD one - it came with my TRD Pro - and it's a bit loose, for lack of a better word. That is, it can be lifted off the rod a good 2 inches, and can spin around. Haven't found a way to tighten it up, if it can be tightened up.

    But it looks good.

I am really happy with the black TRD knob. This is simply what should have come on these trucks. 7EF385CA-675F-45A0-9E00-0F70B3DC00E0.jpg

    Do you want it black?
Just put some shrink wrap on the shaft and take some heat to it.

There is a #2 Phillips head screw in the top of the shaft hole.
Try pulling the knob, taking a long shaft #2 Phillips screwdriver, sticking it in the knob, and tightening that screw.
I've had to do that on both my TRD shift knobs.

If you take the OEM handle and tweak it a little to the right (1-2 o'clock) it will feel totally different.

Fixed it. I usually do this to all my manual trucks, but it works here too. It's a lower profile too when in gear and that's what I was looking for. Thanks everyone for the input.

You can always mod the stock knob. As for shortening the handle, it won't require a lathe, just a hacksaw, a good sharp die, and a little patience.

Teton sells them for the Tundra. Mine is design 2, and design 3 is out now. Simple removal and install and in my opinion, the best looking knob available.
