I had a Katskin kit installed on my Tundra yesterday, and am happy for the most part. I am noticing a few wrinkles here and there, and have been told by the interior shop that this is common and they go away in a few weeks.

Can anyone else confirm this is normal?

Wow that looks like a bad job right there. Here’s how mine came out and that’s when I picked it up. Hope they fix it.

No. I can’t remeber what grade I got but it wasn’t there most expensive. That shouldn’t make a difference in the fit. Did Toyota install it?

1100 with no heat option. OP I’d take it back or sent pics to Katskin.

So the shop told me they think the back seat needs a new katskin, but said everything else looks normal to them and that it will continue to look less wrinkly over the next few weeks....

    What should I do?

Let the shop know that youre going to take pictures and send it to Katzkin. If they are an authorized installer it might change their willingness to re-address.

I emailed Katskin. I will keep everyone posted on how this goes.. So frustrating because this shop IS an authorized dealer and has fantastic reviews... Why is it me that gets the bad egg?

I installed my back seat Katzkins a month or so ago and they looked about like that until I parked outside on a sunny weekend and the interior got 120+; they look a lot better now.

I need to get off my arse and install the fronts or drop it off somewhere..... leather in back with leather head rests and cloth buckets looks a little jankety. (screw you spell check, jankety IS too a word).

4E75D322-5722-454D-BE2B-209FFF40034C.jpg They should look better than that. There will be a few minor wrinkles after install, but not to that extent. Here is a pic of mine after install.

I had a leather seat kit installed (not katskins) and it looked very similar to yours when installed. After a few weeks with some heat, it looks OEM.

I wouldn't be worried at the moment if I were you.

So after one weekend of hot weather they looked pretty solid? I’ll be down at the beach this weekend, so my truck will be sitting straight in the sun.

^^ this, this is how they should look, that is a professional job.

that many wrinkles will not come out. that looks like a DIY job. A professional job shouldn't look half as bad as that. Wrinkles, esp at the back of the lower buckets, will not come out with "some heat and time", not a chance.

not that many, that are so large. They need to re-do this like six7Zero said, should come out looking like his. Re-upholstering seats isnt hard, but having it come out perfect takes experience and skill. When I re-did the seats in my tacoma they looked twice as good as that and it was my first time. Some minor wrinkles did come out over time, but youve got a lot going on there.

Here are mine. Installed a year ago by a certified installer. The wrinkles you see have been there since day 1. even the thigh bolster on the driver seat was like that after install. Passenger side is perfect though. Over all I’m satisfied with mine. 0CF2A847-F8B5-4E17-8D9A-D63BF14F9E2B.jpgC154171A-76AD-4D73-B41E-59821B055B24.jpg 08E2D748-A6AE-4F55-9C20-7AC25BE54F59.jpg
