I have a gig of service through verizon right now and I’m thinking about downgrading to the 300 Mbps service. It’s not like I download anything and I barely use my internet. It’s going from $65 to $35 if I downgrade.

Just depends on your internet needs: truck forums and netflix...you are fine to downgrade.

We work from home, so we have to get the 1.2gb internet to get the faster upload (a-hole comcast) and an additional $30 for unlimited data. Fiber should be lit up this summer, so i'm ready to jump ship.

I have 150mb service and have never had a band width related issue. We stream everything and I host Teams calls live and don’t see any issues with the service. The need for GB service is going to be relatively niche. As data demands for content increased, compression algorithms have made streaming that data easier in lower bandwidths. YMMV.

I'm just outside of Boston and running FiOS. Had their triple bundle deal with their 1GB service. Ended up dropping it down to the 300MB service only and have gone other routes for phone and television, both of which are 100% streaming. With 28 devices, 3 of which are simultaneously streaming TVs and 2 of which are generic "administrative/business focused" laptops used for work, we've never had an issue. Sometimes I question if we need more, but that's an occasional moment and not even a full 1% of the time. Mostly happens around 8pm EST which leads me to believe it is not a "me" problem.

300 Mbps service is more than enough for normal use

Just to clarify, this is about speed and not total data, correct? The reason I ask is how the hell did you find 300mbps for that low of a price?

I have fixed wireless for $89/month and I get only 0000025.0mbps download.
