Should I go with the 8” or 14” screen?

My dealer has a great package on the lot in Lunar Rock with the 3” lift. The only thing is that it has the 8” screen. Is the 14” worth the hype?

I like having the larger screen. It may be because Ive always had aftermarket units with larger screens or Im getting old and its easier to see. I have not seen the 8" in person though.

Different folks different strokes. I didn’t even look at interior functions when I allocated my truck. The 8” does a great job. I wouldn’t pass up a truck over 6 inches

I like the 8 because it doesn't look like someone tried to glue an iPad to the console.

14 inch all the way. Functionality, resale. Not to mention the dash with the 8 inch looks and screams cheap.

I tend to fall in the category of "future proofing" as best I can afford when I buy things. Technology always grows and becomes better, faster etc. So I opted for the 14" screen. Just look at the 21' and older tundra dash and screens. They just look very dated in my view. So I preferred the latest technology. Just my perspective and I hope that helps.

The 14" using Google Maps in satellite view is pretty damn cool.

    Agreed.
Having the larger screen is easy and convenient when using driving maps.
If you have the option for short money get it you won't regret it.

I got in a SR5 with an 8 inch screen and a Limited with a 14 inch screen today. The 8 inch screen seemed nice enough, I'm used to a 7 inch screen though on my taco.
The 14 incher was nicer and didn't stick out to bad.

Really disappointed with the Sr5 dash plastic material. It just feels cheap. My 08 taco has much better quality materials. My wife's 21 RAV4 does too. Obviously the limited was better. Man I wish they would put what's on the RAV4 in the SR5.

Sad part is they display exactly the same thing. I am actually very disappointed with the 14" screen. They did nothing to optimize the layout or screens to leverage the extra size. Just scaled up the 8" to fill the larger screen. Some of the menus are just stupid on both. Audio controls for example. Inexplicable why fade/balance needs to consume the entire screen with a dumb graphic that barely fits and you have to scroll to fit just right. I digress. I would not choose your truck based on screen size. Choose model/trim level based on functional features and accept the screen that comes with it. Just MHO

14 of course, and make sure to get cameras all around. With this truck and its blind spots in front it's very helpful to have good view all around.

14 in screen and its infotainment system is my top 3 favorite features of this truck

I have the smaller screen and it has no issues. My previous truck did not have a screen so maybe that is why lol.

I like the 8" screen. The 14" looks out of place and does not blend in well with the dash like the 8" does. The only reason you may want the larger screen is if you're going blind or have bad eyesight and need really large icons and text.

Can you use satellite view on the regular NAV?

8 is preferred for me not much doing on a screen when you’re driving except listening to your favorite music or talk show. Plus save dollars in your wallet.

14" with cameras is one of the best parts of the truck. Too bad the cameras aren't available on the 8", but it would be probably tough to make out some of the detail.

Before I bought mine with the 14", I tried to compare 2 different trucks. The other being one with an 8". The sales man had told me that the 8" had the PCM or whatever the TRD OR equivalent is. Both trucks were TRD OR, one was the lowest option in 2022, the other was the premium pkg 2022 which I got. I've been very happy with the bigger screen.

I came from a 2”x2” reverse cam displayed in the rear view mirror to this 14” with cams all around. Both work great for backing up to a trailer for example.
IMO, if the 8” has a reverse cam, it’s perfectly fine. If you’re getting a good deal on a unit with the lift, I wouldn’t let 6” get in the way. Maybe use it as leverage to get a bed step or something.
I do love the 14” though. It’s just that it’s ‘nice to have’.
