side mirrors

2018 tundra limited double cab.I want to know if anyone has added side turn signals that have oem turn,heat and bsm.called dealer were i bought it they werant interested in giving me any info on wether its wired for the turn,heat,signal indacator.because there are mirrors on line that sell them identacal to mine.

 

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! There are a few on the site that have added tow mirrors. Not all of the functions are always available on OEM or aftermarket. Search for tow mirrors on the site and you will find some info.

Doesn't the limited have BSM, turn signals & heated mirrors?

 

The small mirror has bsm and heat symbol no turn indicator on mirror. Called the dealer they said real fast(speaking)no ,no ahh if it didn't come with it the wiring is not there,click.But I've seen online that the same size mirrors about$500 do have what I want,hesitation to buy and find out that the dealer was right.i had a 2016 tacoma same thing changed mirrors to what I want and they worked so I don't know please help

 

I'm not familiar with everything the Limited has on it, so what features do you already have in your stock mirrors?

I know that if your truck doesn't already have all those features it can require additional wiring to add what ever is missing. Especially if it's something like the power fold option or BSM.

To the best of my knowledge there are no OEM mirrors that have all the features you are asking for. I'm not sure I've seen any OEM tundra mirror with a turn signal indicator in the glass. You can get some tow mirrors (aftermarket I think) that have an additional light on the outside of the mirror for better visibility to other drivers, but I don't think any of them maintain BSM.

When I stuck the Trail Ridge Tow Mirrors on my SR truck with no mirror features the signalas just worked right out of the box so that tells me that the trucks are wired for that stuff even if you dont have them from Toyota.

I am also sure that if you do not have BSM that you still wont but of you already do then you likely will with an aftermarket mirror that does.

 

You should be able to swap on a set of Platinum/1794 mirrors and gain the mirror signals. Your truck already has the wiring for the mirror signals in the harness. The only features the Platinum/1794 mirrors have that your truck isn't prewired for would be power fold, auto dim and the puddle lights. All those features could be wired in aftermarket if they are things you didn't know you wanted until now

$25 2014-2021 Tundra Driver Side (Chrome-Left)

2014-2021 Tundra are pre-wired in the side mirror harness for power adjust, heating and turn signals regardless if your truck had them originally. Power fold and BSM are only wired in if your truck originally had it.

If you go to Amazon, etc, and buy aftermarket tow mirrors with integrated turn signals they will work.

On my 2018 SR5, I was able to add in higher grade side mirrors (I think they came off a Platinum - bought them as new takeoffs) and towing mirrors (mine are OEM) and the turn signals just work. But I had to wire in components to make the Platinum power folding mirrors work. I covered the BSM light with a convex mirror (it's off all the time anyways).
