I have a new 1794 crewmax and I remember when I first got it, the side view mirrors would tilt down when reversing.

I noticed they don’t do that anymore. Any reason? Is there a setting I maybe turned off?

I believe that happens when your mirror selector is on one of those mirrors and you put it in reverse, it will tilt down. If your mirror selector is in the middle, it doesn't tilt down in reverse.

Both of mine tilt down every time I put it in reverse. Most of the time it's helpful.

I don't remember a setting, but it makes sense that there would be a way to turn it off. I'll check next time I'm in my truck.

From the manual: Linked mirror function when reversing (if equipped) (*page 169)

"When the mirror select switch is in the L or R position, the outside rear view mirrors will automatically angle downwards when the vehicle is reversing in order to give a better view of the ground. To disable this function, move the mirror select switch to the neutral position (between L and R).

Adjusting the mirror angle when the vehicle is reversing
With the shift lever in R, adjust the mirror angle at a desired position. The adjusted angle will be memorized and the mirror will automatically tilt to the memorized angle whenever the shift lever is shifted to R from next time. The memorized downward tilt position of the mirror is linked to the normal position (angle adjusted with the shift lever in other than R). Therefore, if the normal position is changed after adjustment, the tilt position will also change. When the normal position is changed, readjust the angle in reversing
    ."

Thanks for posting that! I thought the reverse position was in relation to the position I set them to when not in reverse. Now I can fine tune them.

Awesome this worked. I guess I kept the L/R switch In the middle because of my OCD. so I guess I’ll have to break that habit to use the feature.

Blacked out, DD12" catback, Stillen CAI, CAN tune soon
Thank goodness this is fixable. My mirrors were adjusting way up when in reverse instead of down which was ticking me off lol

My guess would be it's one of those creature comforts only available on the Platinum/1794 trim levels.
