After the 3 month trial I kept saying no until they offered me 5 bucks a month. I figured 5 bucks was reasonable.

not sure if I will renew. I’m finding while I enjoy commercial free, I’m also finding it’s the same music over and over again.

just curious if anyone kept their subscription or did they cancel because it’s a wast of money?

legit post. I’m not trying to wast anyone’s time.

I commute 75 miles once a week to work, and I enjoy having Sirius option. Works well going over the mountain pass where no other radio stations are available. So that is the long answer of yes for my lifestyle the subscription is worth it.

I used xm for a while. They would knock price down every time for a while. But after about 2 years it become difficult to get them to roll price back. Now I'm using Spotify they up to about $12.00 a month. But, like it better. Getting tired of dealing with them. Want be to long and I will be listening to FM radio again. Only reason I'm still on Spotify kick is because I listen to it in gym.

I have it because I listen to some of everything and it’s nice on trips to not have to keep searching for radio stations. Also have the $5 promo. Have to play a game with them to keep it cheap. Cancel it right before the $5 promo runs out and usually within 2 weeks they will send another cheap offer in the mail and you can get it back for another year or two cheap. I’m in for $5 but they’re regular prices more like $20-30 it’s not worth it to me

I enjoy it because I like 60 music and have not been able to find a replacement that has something like 60s music.

They always try to raise mine at renewal. Make a phone call. Gets dropped to my previous low rate. Every time.

I used XM when it first came out, and for many years had it on several vehicles. Then the rates started going up, they removed online access, the Comedy channels became repetitive with both materials and adverts, and crappified many of the channels that I listened to with DJs and the same canned repetitive crap that OTA radio has for free, and the sound quality went way down due to more bandwidth compression that was variable across channels.

Once I started using Spotify, there was simply no need for XM anymore, for me at least. The cost went way down and the listening enjoyment went way up. Now it has come to the point where even with free trial periods and rental vehicles with it enabled, I do not listen to it even then.

XM = wast of monee, 100%, IMHO.

For 5.00 per month it is worth it.

I grew tired of the political BS from DJ's. It was usually very minimal...but there.

We went with Spotify family plan and have really liked having that service.

I get the top package for $5 a month. (Howard Stern and all)When it runs out they try to charge close to $30. A phone call is all it takes to go back down to $5.. been doing it this way for the last 5 years.

Yep. 14 years for me now. Can't beat it at that price. I listen to it a lot. Lots of channels appeal to me to make it worth it.

For the $5 a month yes. It also comes with the app I use when playing golf to stream to my radio there and can use in other vehicles with Carplay that don't have SXM.

I'm noting that SiriusXM radio is just for casual listening entertainment as the "signal" is sonically compressed.

However I enjoy it in the Tundra. But on a very limited basis as I won't pay for a service that offers me something like 150 channels but which I would only enjoy, oh, about 8. So to the OP's question: NO. I don't find it worth it.

Now. This coming Thursday, May 23, 2024 and for the next 10 days, SiriusXM will again be doing their "IT'S FREE" holiday "trial" offering. If your truck (or car or old fashioned home device) is already plumbed for SiriusXM, and you're not a current subscriber, then dial it up starting this coming Thursday and enjoy your favorite channels. I'm a Deep Tracks channel guy. ENJOY kids.

+1 for the SiriusXM app. The app has more stations including some that are just music without their DJs talking it up. You can skip songs on the just music stations too. My truck does not have Sirius, but one of my family members does in their truck, so I just use the app on my phone and a Bluetooth device to stream Sirius in my truck all the time.

The only downside is you can't have the app playing on two separate phones at once. If you have multiple Sirius subscriptions, you can create multiple app logins to get around this.

Nope and the sound quality is that of a short wave radio. 15 mins to cancle the subscription because it has to go through a Manager that insisted on not wanting you to cancel.
Amazon with paid subscription and you get the HD quality. FM even has a high bit rate!

I have had it on all my new vehicles, after that it gone. The most recent time was about a year ago on my wife's new suv. Problem i saw with it was they talk to much sometimes. If you're going to charge me I don't want to hear anyone's voice but the signer. Play music, if I wanted to hear people talk I would listen to FM. I don't care if its $5 or $10. Long time ago I took a 12 hour road trip from Miami to Pensacola, The service was not 100% throughout the trip and I recall hearing a few songs more than once. To me its also frustrating to have the same type of music in 3-5 different channels.

Used to like the xm product but if you listen long enough you can start guessing the next song.
I went with apple music instead. At first it was included with my cell plan and I went one level up with the family plan so the wife and kids could enjoy.

SiriusXM is a dying technology. Drove me nuts that customers are limited with advancing to the next track etc.

My problem with Sirius is you have to call to do anything. I cancelled it on my old Tacoma cause it was just more so a hassle to have to call them to get a promotional rate or even just cancel. And when you call to cancel they will do everything they can to get you to not cancel. Plus now that I work from home I hardly drive. Spotify is better as I can pick the music I want to listen to and not have to worry about listening to something I don’t want to

I have always used it. Bought the lifetime subscription back in 2004 for $300 only to find out years later that fine print says it's for that device only. Cancelled for a year over that fine print BS and always did the cancellation game for years after. You all are reminding me to pull off the old cancel game. Just been too busy to fight for that $60 savings

Free trial came with my new 2018 Tundra, never used it. They called and wanted me to subscibe but I refused. They couldn't believe it so I had to get a little more forceful on the phone to get them to knock it off. They still never gave up with offers in the mail but they never called again.

If it’s $5 a month, you do a good bit of driving, and there’s stations you like, it’s worth it. With today’s subscriptions music services like Spotify and Apple Music, Sirius/XM is kind of going the way of the dinosaur. Some of the unique channels like coffee shop was kind of cool, but the more modern ones just loop the same modern pop music. Never cared for any of the talking or music news either. I once bought a car that had an old lifetime subscription on it (they don’t offer them anymore), and the previous owner didn’t realize he could transfer it until a year and a half after I bought it. Once it was gone I never missed it. One thing that always drove me crazy was losing reception going under overpasses on the highway. There used to be a trick where you could have a subscription and end it, and as long as you don’t change the channel it doesn’t update and keeps working until you change to a different station; but I’m not sure if that still works.

This is exactly why I miss XM before the merger (AKA takeover of XM by Sirius).
No DJs rambling just to hear themselves talk with their snarky political views.
Madison on AltNation is the worst, followed by all the DJs on Cassic Rewind and Classic Rock.

Fortunately, there are extra stations on the Sirius app, which is the only way I listen to it.
Many of these are just music with no mindless rambling..

I pay $7 a month and have to make the annual phone call to keep it at that price.
If they ever denied that $7 I'd be done with them.

The main reason I have Sirius these days is to listen to The Bonfire while driving at work.
As @Oldandfat stated, sometimes it seems like music stations play the same songs every day in the same exact order.
