    Ladies and Gents,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I don’t need to sing the songs of Tundra praise to you all. As I go about searching for a new truck I can’t help but be disappointed that I can’t find a Tundra that seats six. Are they out there for the 2019? Also did they do away with the cement color for the SR5 trim in the 2019 model year? It’s gotta be a six seater for the large family size I have in order to justify the 45k price tag.

My 17 has the front bench to seat 6, I believe the option is out there

Welcome from San Antonio! I think that the only way to get 6 seats is with a double cab with the bench seat up front. My '16 DC has it.

It just looked on the Toyota website. For 2019 they do offer seating for 6, but it seems to be only in the SR5 trim level (maybe I'm wrong). Here's a link, you can choose your trim level and see if 5 or 6 seats are available in that form. Hope this helps. https://www.toyota.com/tundra/features/mpg/8361/8372/8375

The SR5 Crewmax is available with a front bench. You have to find one without the SR5 upgrade package (That adds a console and twin buckets)

That means you can't get the 38 gallon tank from the factory correct?

That is correct. You get the 26.4 vs the 38 so you would need to go aftermarket if you wanted a bigger tank. Light comes on at 20 gallons or so.

Unfortunately, yes. I needed the 6 seater as well and had to give up the 38 gallon. It was more difficult to add a seat than to carry extra gas cans as needed. I've considered retrofitting the 38 gallon but the costs are a little too steep for me at this time.

They should be available. I found this when shopping for my 2018 Crewmax. The availability will depend on region. I.e. four SET dealers stated not available. Ultimately I purchased from a dealer out of state.

I wanted a 6 passenger tundra as well... you can’t get a higher end trim with a bench and from what I can tell most of the dealers add the upgrade package to the sr5 models which adds the center console. So basically you have to get a low optioned sr5 to get the bench and lose the 38 gallon tank.

At this point, I may as well just go with another brand. The Tundra already has low creature comforts. An entry level trim only worsens that fact right? I get that guys like the fact that if there isn’t much there then there isn’t much that can break. This is 2019 and is a Ford Lariat really that much less reliable? I want to go Toyota but if I am spending 50k doesn’t it make sense to buy a truck that fits my lifestyle? Rather than make me fit the truck?

Go buy the Ford and report back after 50,000 miles. You can be the guinea pig. I suggest getting the extended warranty.

I have a bench seat crewmax and love it.
The money you save not getting the sr5 upgrade package can go towards the creature comforts you might want (aftermarket). I was playing around on the Toyota site the other day and built another bench seat crewmax all optioned out and ended up at a 40k msrp.

Dude, I don’t know. Let me do some research. That’s an interesting point. I’ve seriously considered a 4Runner limited and trick it out but I thought I would regret not getting a truck. Will return and report.

The Sequoia is really nice. Don’t rule it out. Unless you need that pick up bed like I do. I think the third row is removable so if you put something down to protect the cargo area you could still use it like a truck. I used my last SUV like a truck. You could even invest in a cheap little trailer for the trips to Home Depot LOL

I’ve owned the other brands. And the only thing that ever saved me was having a warranty. As soon as the warranty was up I started getting nervous. So if you do decide that another brand fits your lifestyle. I would get the best warranty I could. I know my local ram dealer was offering a lifetime powertrain warranty. It was really tempting, but I ended up in a Toyota because I felt it was the smart decision. I could only imagine that ram would find a way not to cover me under the lifetime warranty. Probably because I wouldn’t use them for maintenance services.

The Toyota website has added a few things for the SR5 build tool. It looks like it may work after all. It is however saying that the Cement color isn’t available unless you buy the SR5 upgrade, which removes the front bench seat. Uggh. I guess I can’t have cake and eat it too.

A 2015 lariat is the reason I am now driving a tundra 3.5 Ecoboost ran like a champ for 3 years then exhaust manifold gaskets and studs failed like on many others .dealer wanted 6k to fix it because I was out of warranty got great gas mileage but having a reliable truck is far better in my opinion

I went with Toyota for the perceived reliability, as well as the very large back seat. When stuffing three kids back there, you need space

As well, I got mine for 38k and 0.9% from Toyota.

After coming from cars that had all the options, I can say the only thing that I actually miss is the heated seats.
