I'm picking up my Tundra this week after such a LONG wait. I've been looking for options on sliders but am not seeing options for this generation. Has anyone had any luck?

Checking out the Wescott and C4 stuff, thanks. I spoke with RCI a couple of weeks ago and sounds like their gen 3 sliders are still in development. I really like their skid plates and cat protectors, which were fairly easy to install on my SR5.

I like the Rhino RB20 slims as a step for the time being, but rocker panel steps can easily get ripped right off with even mild off-roading around here. We do a lot of dispersed camping in the mountains here and in Utah, so I plan to wait a few months for the right sliders to attach directly to the frame, and actually protect the truck.

@mmasse: do you have pictures of the D6's on your truck? I'm wondering if there is a bracket that hangs down below the tubes? What do you think of it as a "slider"? Am I right is saying that they attach to the 8 holes on each side intended for the OEM running board but this attachment may not be strong enough for a true "slider" installation? I really like the idea of the D6 from what I'm seeing so far.
    thanks for any thoughts :)

You are correct, D6 is not a real slider.

Has anyone seen sliders for Double cab? The ones I've seen have all been for crewmax.

"The Go Rhino Dominator D6 is a cab length body mount rock slider with a wide step area designed for the hardcore off-roader. These optional bolt-on 4” drop steps for the D6 help make entering and exiting a lifted vehicle with oversize tires much easier, especially if it is doing extra duty as family transport. Sold in pairs. The D6 Side Steps come with a Limited Lifetime warranty on materials and construction and a 5 year warranty on the Textured Black Finish."

Huh I guess the company does not know what it makes then

Yep, upon reading that description I would be led to believe that the company does not know what a rock slider is.

Two words: BODY MOUNT. So, if they made the step real strong (they didn’t), and the brackets holding them weren’t just thin stamped steel (they are), all the force of whatever you’re “sliding” over would be transferred to the underside of the cab. Not the frame, like a real slider.

It does look good. I'm looking for the slimmest running board that can still function as a step for my wife and kids. This might do.

I thought my sliders were overpriced at $900...$1,800 seems extremely high.

They really don’t, that’s not a slider in any sense of the word, you use it as one and your truck is going to get trashed

Go slide that on a rock and see what happens. Try to open your door after that and see what happens. Call Go Rhino to see if they'll fix your truck because their rocksliders didn't slide, but mated with your rocker panel instead and see what happens. You got got if you bought that thinking you could drop a full size truck on something held up by sheet metal bolted to more sheet metal.

Sounds like you've got life all figured out. Why you here? Go make a youtube channel and get rich and get cool stuff. I'll help you get a to-do list together.

    1. Buy expensive camera.
    2. Borrow truck.
    3. Find gravel road.
    4. Record yourself driving on the gravel road.
    5. ???
    6. GET. MONEY.

GoRhino doesn’t make sliders. They may call them as such, but they are just not.

If anyone is near Columbia and willing to lend me their truck to r&d the bolt up I can do them no problem! I've had one guy come by with a double cab and another with a crewmax which will be here soon. The doublecab I'm unsure of timeline.

Here’s Go Rhino’s description on their website. Worded a little better than the description above by of one of their vendors. They’re still trying to fool unknowing buyers into believing they’re sliders, but probably wouldn’t lose in a lawsuit. They’re careful to actually never call them sliders. Always slider-steps. Or “slider” design. And most importantly, they never mention “hardcore” off-roader.
