I don't know exactly how much a Cummins weighs, but I don't think I would trust a half ton frame under it. Guys who take their Tundras off the beaten path a lot are already having custom shock tower braces built, and that's with the stock 5.7L.

An LS swap would probably be easier, but you're still looking at a lot of custom work.

It's probably easier and more cost effective to sell the truck and buy what you want. If it were me, I'd get a 4wd 5.7L truck and just supercharge it.

If you don’t already have a good idea of what is possible, chances are you don’t have what it takes to make any of it happen. Unless you’re paying someone who does know to do it for you.

I would say sell it, and buy with 5.7. Because unless you can do the job yourself it will be VERY expensive

~1050 lbs for a 6BT. That includes turbo.

    I would sell and purchase a 5.7L.

If this is just something you want to do, LS3 crate motor would be the easiest route.

You can do anything you want if you throw enough money at it.

You can do a 4 cylinder Cummins diesel swap. Time, money, and resources, you can swap almost anything into your truck.

I'd find a V10 out of an old Viper, add twin turbos, and go shred some tires. If you have a CM, maybe see if you could make a mid-engine mount work.

Disclaimer: I might watch too much "Roadkill" and other similar shows.

If you swap and old 12 valve Cummins (or a 24), you won't have to worry about a computer. Not knowing anything else, because I don't, that might be the easier way.

Can you? I have no idea. If the question was actually supposed to be “May I?” then I hereby grant you my permission.

    If it's a 2007-2021, wouldn't a 5.7 swap be the easiest path?

If you go 12 valve, make sure to leave enough room for a radiator, intercooler, transmission cooler, a/c condenser, cooling fan, and fan clutch.

people are dropping those r2.8’s into 80 series pretty frequently now. That rig isn’t too much lighter than a tundra and the r2.8 is pretty much the same weight as a 5.7. I think it’d be underpowered but all the YouTubers are saying those rigs are a blast to drive. But then again, how many YouTubers actually say anything negative on their channel. All about the hype
