    Hey Everyone!

I recently bought a 2005 Double Cab Tundra and I LOVE it. I recently saw a Facebook Marketplace add for a Softopper. The Softopper was originally on a 2017 Tacoma w/ Long Bed. I figured that since the New Tacomas and First Gen Tundras are about the same, The Softopper might fit my truck. Does anyone have any idea if it would work well, if at all?

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome from NY.

I would call softopper and ask them since their website doesn't have part numbers to cross reference.
You could look into bed covers and see if those years and models have the same part number. If they do then I would say the softopper would work.

When I was looking at soft toppers, they told me only a FGT topper would fit a FGT, nothing else interchanged. I had a guy measure one that he had on his s10 and the dimensions were close. I’m sure you can make one fit but might be worth while to get the right one to begin with.

    No way will that fit.

Tundra box is way wider than a Tacoma.

I have a soft topper on my Tundra. Would love to transfer it to my tacoma. They are not even close.

Are the soft toppers less expensive and just as nice as a for example leer camper shell?

Just installed a Softtopper on my 05 ac, payed i believe little over 900 that included a screen rear window [ for the pooch] and a
storage bag when its folded up. I priced ARE cab high shells, they priced out anywhere from 2k to 2,800 depending on features. Nice features about softopper beside price is weight and 1 person to remove, takes up minimal space when off the truck.
