Why back to a FWC? If this was a Badlander I’d be all over it, GLWS!

I recently purchased another truck that has a 6ft bed and now I can get a larger FWC. The FWC is such a good platform because it is a self contained unit. I can go from Overland Mode to Furniture Mover Mode in about 20mins.

Not trying the sell you on the Mesa but I think it has better features over the Badlander. I went through all of the pros/cons when I ordered my Mesa. Basically, it came down to camping in high winds and snow. The Mesa can be parked facing the wind, making it usable in windy conditions. Even in my old FWC I had to lower the top during really high winds. Also, the Mesa get's the win for camping in snow, it basically falls off but on the Badlander it could collect snow on top and cause it to collapse, or make it difficult to open. Lastly, since the front of the Badlander is designed to pop up, the seal needs to be really strong. The Mesa has a hinge on the front and it's basically water proof.

    Gotcha, that makes sense.

There are pros and cons of everything, I have a family of 4 and the mesa would be even (too) smaller than the badlander (I'm also 6'5" and think it would be too short). I like the features and space of a slide in unit but want as minimal impact to daily driving as possible, and a slide in is just too big (wide) for what I do with the truck.

Yeah, that's understandable. It's just my wife and I so we can fit fine in the smaller campers. Regarding the wideness of the slide in campers, consider putting one that was made for a Tacoma into the Tundra. My previous setup, with a FWC Swift on the Tundra fit perfect. You could get a FWC Fleet Shell. Build it out for your family.

I'll be traveling out to the Outer Banks NC in a few weeks for a trip. If anyone in between Chicago and NC wants to check out the topper let me know.
