Hello again, I replaced all my coil packs and spark plugs today and the process went well for the most part. I went through one coil and plug at a time and after installing made sure everything was tight and secure, I bought TRQ brand coil packs ( and spark plugs from 1a auto. Bought my struts alternator and couple other things from there and they seemed like a pretty good website to get my parts. My coils I can't tell if they were too bad but I wanted to get them all new since it's been a bit since I last changed them. (I have a bad habit of not keeping track when I replace stuff) and for my spark plugs they all seemed pretty dark. Long story short after changing everything I started it up and it turned over pretty nicely and seemed to idle fine, I let it warm up and then took it around the block. But once I got back and got out I noticed this subtle popping sound which started to get a bit louder. It's only coming from the driver side for the most I can tell and I haven't gotten any check engine light yet. I noticed the plugs should be gapped to 0.33 after looking around and used a tool where I can measure the gap and set it. The ones I replaced were well over 0.45. I didn't unplug the battery since online a majority said you don't need to but I only saw one say you have to because you're dealing with high voltage, also I don't remember doing it in the past. Just need some help dialing what I may have screwed up? Thanks

Sounds exactly like a vacuum line disconnected. Look it over again.

Your EVAP line to the charcoal canister (black box next to brake MC) is disco'd.

Unless it goes on loosely because it’s too stretched out, but yes. If loose, you may want to secure it better or buy replacement hose.

You may want to look into replacing the hoses at some point. If it slid off by itself, it’ll do it again.

Chances are the carrier isn't bad. But that's just my humble opinion. If rubber isn't torn, look at the U-joints before the carrier.

About that, I took it into midas a couple months back and they noted it during an inspection and a guy who owned an older tacoma said their tranny went out because of the carrier bearing being blown how true is that, I've heard it can cause the driveshaft to seize but destroying the transmission

Transmissions are one of those things I just provide a lot of quality insight on. I'm not sure I buy into a carrier killing a tranny, but I also can't help but think it depends a lot on the transmission. I can't imagine, say, a carrier bearing killing an old 4spd Muncie, for example. But I could see it killing a shitty Nissan CVT transmission. Then again, a fart bubble would probably kill a Nissan CVT, when you consider a couple dozen K miles of normal operation will kill it.

Noted, my transmissions been pretty solid with it so far but not gonna leave it unattended. Got a couple recordings of it while im driving and it does move forward, backward slightly and bounce around quite a bit, two hands I can push the driveline up about an inch and I get a clunk sometimes when going into reverse but no shifting problems out of the tranny which is a relief. Pretty tough truck

I have about 1/4"-3/8" of play in mine in both directions and it's in pretty mint condition. Some play is normal.

But with how torn up the rubbers are on that joker, you should replace it. Go with a Dana/Spicer replacement only. Be sure to clock your driveshaft correctly, mark before removal.
