I want to warn everyone that the ordering stalls at Sonic are really tight for a Tundra. Even with the mirrors folded in. I lost my passenger side mirror yesterday trying to back out. Go to the drive through or park in spaces without menu boards. This was a $1700 lesson to replace the mirror.

I destroyed my passenger side mirror on my 2018 a couple of months ago by backing out of the garage too close to the right side door rail. Busted it to pieces. This was not an electrically folding mirror.

It cost me $566.00 to have it replaced at the dealer which i thought was a bit steep. Was yours and electrically folding mirror?

I thought you were going to talk about how your truck would stall every time you went to sonic lol. its a misleading title, but that’s good Intel

Never been to the local Sonic pull-in spots. Just seems weird. If you want to eat your food in your vehicle, then use the drive-thru. If you want to avoid wilted lettuce between your seats and sauce in your console, then park and go inside. Besides, my local Sonic is awful. Never a correct order, or timely, or good.

I am old enough to have actually used a real drive-in fast food place when I was a teen. Same as a Sonic. But, back then, it was the norm in society to want to interact with other customers and check out their cars. It was a social thing. Today, nobody talks to anybody at a Sonic, and the stalls are apparently too narrow for full-size vehicles. Interesting that the giant Tundra is about 4" wider than the widest musclecar I had in high school, which was a 1970 GTX.

But, the Chevy Silverado is an inch and a half wider than the Tundra...

An automated car wash took out the factory passenger mirror and I replaced it with a set of tow mirrors. Sonics are tight but very doable, just have to approach straight and back out as straight as possible. I have since traded my Tundra and now drive a 2019 Ram 1500, which is 2” wider than the 2.5 gen Tundra. The way the hood is made completely obstructs your vision of the passenger front of the vehicle, I’ve taken it to Sonic and parked in one of the stalls once, definitely not a fun experience and will not be repeated often.

One of my co workers wife got his Tundra tangled up in a sonic stall, lots of damage on both sides trying to get it out.

Holy crap. I did the same exact thing with my passenger mirror! Just trying to get my cherry limeade and absent mindedly back out; clipped the passenger side mirror on the the menu board and bent it too far. The housing broke open and now grabs the automatic car wash shammies. I've been looking for a replacement on eBay and RockAuto but haven't had luck with the gray colored insert. Any guidance on the right part to get would be appreciated and I definitely commiserate with your situation!
