Sony xav-9500es

I just installed the sony xav-9500es from trailgridpro. The radio itself is great, but I am having some issues with bluetooth/android auto. For some reason my music keeps cutting put and the maps lags bad. Every now and then it disconnects from bluetooth and android auto. I have a samsung s22 ultra that's updated I also updated android auto app and Google maps.
Does anyone have this issue

 

Is firmware on the head unit updated to the latest patch?

 

I would have to check it out after work. I would assume that they would already come installed with the latest update?

How would I know u have the latest firmware update

 

I'm not a Sony guy but Pioneer has an app you use to do all of that

 

Don’t assume it’s current. Most the time it’s a version or two behind

 

I just checked and the head unit has the latest firmware update

I will say that android auto can be sketch af sometimes...

 

I did some research on this headunit and it's a known issue for the s22 ultra phones. Kind of sucks paying so much for a headunit. I don't want to buy a new phone lol. Hopefully there's a solution.

 

Are you eligible for an upgrade on that phone?

 

I think we all can agree iPhone is where it’s at.

 

I've been experimenting with wired/wireless android auto and have the same issue. After a while I got wired android auto to work smoothly, but I had to go to developer option and turn off wireless android auto. Now every time I plug in the cable android auto works.

Also I think I'm missing a few cables for the front camera. Has anyone installed the front cam from trail grid and verify if I am missing anything. This is what's left.

 

Apparently most phones with the new android 14 software are having the same issues. So if I get a new phone it will come with android 14

 

I got the Sony XAV-9000ES bundle from TrailGridPro. I didn’t get a front camera through them and just bought one on Amazon, but from this pic it looks like you’re missing the other half of the cam cord. It’d have a 4 pin female end that attaches to the end of the cord coming off the cam, and on the other end a male RCA plug to attach to one of the female RCA cam inputs on the back of your head unit. Did they attach/tesa tape it and leave it bundled up on the back of the head unit? If not/if they forgot it, they have fantastic customer support and I’m sure they’d send you one for free.

I took everything off and checked but still no cable. I guess they forgot to put it in the box. I'll send them an email..

 

I have an earlier version of the Sony XAV. Go to the support page for your radio and download the firmware to a USB drive. Then insert that into the radio USB, go into settings and there should be a firmware update option

I have the honeycomb OEM TRD grille and I drilled a hole in mine to mount the front cam, directly beneath the Toyota logo. I ended up cutting both the flip wire and the reverse image wire on my cam and mounted it so it points down, the field of view is great. On your grille, if you’re not opposed to drilling a hole in it, directly beneath the middle rivet between the U and N in Tundra would be about the same spot. So far I’m loving it, use it when parking in ramps or parallel parking and it’s been great!
