    Hello all,
First post aside from my intro post in New Member Forum. I'm also new to forums, and I need your input! I've dug around this thread some and am not able to find specifically what I'm looking for.

What I would like is a shell topper with a cargo rack attached on top and then another separate rack on the cab. I'd like them to be horizontally flush to create one large rack the length of the rig.

I'd like the shell topper to have large, wing-style side windows and the rear to be one solid pane, also wing-style (am I saying that correctly?). I can't find any information about the static weight load capacity for the three (3) companies I've started to research (A.R.E., Snugtop, Leer). I am using my phone and that could be some of the issue (not all those sights are optimized for mobile use).

I'd like the cargo rack to be similar to Prinsu or Front Runner in design. No preference other than strength and durability.

Eventually, I will have a tent over the shell topper portion and gas/water cans and other gear over the cab, but not even close to that decision making process.

Recap: I need to identify the shell topper and the cargo rack preferred vendors for the 2017 CrewMax SR5 4x4 to identify weight requirements for each.

    Thanks!
    R.

For the racks check out UpTop Overland. I have their rack on my Leer Shell and love it. On shell racks, be sure to get the tracks mounted when you purchase it.

Ok, thanks for the response @HTGreen. What's the situation of your Leer shell at the front? Is it easy to pass stuff through into/from the truck via the automatic back window with the shell mounted?

You beat me to it! I think his build is perfect for this thread.

For the weight choice, I would go with ARE and buy the HD internal frame with side windoors and a removable front window. I use my side doors everyday. I am not sure on your budget but you are probably looking at $3.5K just for the cap

Welcome to the forum! Here is what I had on my previous Tundra. Maybe this will help with ideas. C61D1745-5B4F-4F7C-8537-D3C6896CBCF2.jpg

That's exactly what I'm looking for, thanks! Can I get the specifics of the shell and the rack system, @1UPPER?

After I "built" one it was just shy of $4k

I have the front fully opening window on my cap, it drops downward. I have used it to haul long stuff in bad weather

If you are looking for it to be horizontally flush, then the one pictured in this thread by 1upper work work for you, unless you don't mind the curve. I believe it is a coachbuilder roof rack.

You'll want a roof rack from Prinsu, Victory 4x4, KC Highlights, etc. that will get you what you are looking for.
