South Africa geopolitical & RSI SmartCap

Not gawking but just posting; I have an RSI SmartCap—a South African company for production— (love it) but have been unable to obtain load bars for it—their website states availability in January ‘22. Last year and this year shipments were delayed for months (or indefinitely) because of Covid, global shipping issues, etc.

Just posting for folks to remember their fellow humans in shitty situations and also to provide perspective on why the insatiable American materialistic appetite might be unmet for some items.

 

I thought I read somewhere that RSI was building a production plant in TX. that may help with distribution.

 

I ordered my load bars for my cap in November and got them in April.

 

Or you could just buy American. (Although you'd probably still be waiting.)

 

True, but you won’t find a stainless version made in America—Ali-Cab is South African as well.

 

South africa is dealing with some insane internal strife right now. Its tragic. I can imagine that could hurt their export market for a while
