Spanner Wrench or NO

    Can you make adjustments to the coil adjuster nut on coilovers without a spanner wrench? Is there a tool that will substitute for one?

    A punch works best, a screw driver works too but since the head is rounded off you can more penetration with a flattened end :D I've used a spanner like once to adjust shocks, 9/10 times you can't fit it without totally removing the shock from the vehicle. Closest sized punch (or cut the tip off a screw driver), maybe cut down to fit in there easier, is your best bet.

    And maybe you know this already, but if you're adjusting while on the truck, jack it up so no weight is on the shock, and spray the threads and collars with lube so they/the spring can rotate easier. A hammer hitting the side of the punch can go a long ways too.
