Subject.png So I was walking past the back of the truck today and thought the spare looked like it was hanging low. So I crawled under and it was loose and swinging around.
So I got out the Tundra tools to lower/raise the tire...after 5 minutes of trying to hook something ( while dropping F-bombs on this dumb system), I finally took my phone and zoomed in a pic.....there is nothing to hook to??

Can someone else take a pic. Not sure it matters but mine is 22 1794 Hybrid

BTW......tire is still swinging around LOL

Yeah, I hate the stupid Toyota spare tire. Even my 89 pickup had the exact same thing. The hook fits sideways between the protruding pieces on that round bolt like a flathead screwdriver and then turns to raise/lower the chain.

Had mine down/up few times. Worked OK with the tools behind the seat.

Thank you. I will take another run at it tomorrow, but I could not get that F'n hook to grab anything in there. Every owner should do a test because if it was dark/raining/snowing.....probably off your self trying to get the spare down

Correct you are....still dumb as shit. I am going to an autowrecker and buying a handle to modify as a standard screw driver to add to the bag.

As much as I would like to say this is my first 3rd GEN hate.......it was on my last one as well lol

If been considering finding s 1/2 drive socket to fit over that coupling, secure with roll pin or bolt. Get a wobble drive extension and be done.
