Sparks Door Handle Parts

Anyone put the sparks parts door handle covers on their truck? Wondering how easily they install and how well they fit. I get the impression they're covers, not Toyota parts. Which is fine if they look good. Looking to put flat black ones on my Lunar Rock.

Edit: I'm coming off some broken ribs that collapsed a lung. I see it now that they're genuine OEM parts, I missed that earlier and I blame the drugs.

 

I don't see any signatures on my end, so I'm not sure which thread you referring to. When I looked into door handles on my own I was coming up with ~$1k. I don't think I pulled that 3rd PN tho - that's the crew max back door pn?

OEM tailgate is gloss

 

I purchased a set of gloss black covers off Amazon. They also offer flat black. They are surprisingly good quality, with perfect fit and look OEM

 

I believe there are two different tailgate handles, one gloss and one matte. I think the matte one is PN 76810-0C041 and the gloss one 76810-0C021.

 

+1, bought overlay and it fits perfectly, no gap and price was reasonable. $20 for the 4 handles (there are $50 one but don’t see the value in that) and $20 for the tailgate overlay in the back which was a bit pricey for just 1 piece.

 

The other part about replacing the full handle is that I really dislike taking off those interior panels. Without fail, I end up with a broken clip or some shit. But also, then what the hell do I do with 4 chrome handles? They'd eventually sell, maybe.

Might give those covers a try. $20 ain't bad. I waste that on beers watching the Wild lose must win playoff games all the time!

If you want to delete chrome around windows electrical tape works surprisingly well. I have had it on my Sequoia for 5 years and still looks good. You will need two different widths because vertical chrome trim is wider. You will need a sharp craft knife to trim edges.

 

Door handle, half the price and perfect fit. I used this.

Has anyone successfully wrapped their chrome handles? I'm sitting on some Lunar Rock APA film that I might use for this, but curious if anyone has successfully done theirs and have any pointers on install. Most YT vids I have found show how to wrap around the handles, not cover them.

I've got enough film to screw it up a time or two and plan on installing them this weekend (along w the chrome rear bumper panels) so will post updates after.

 

I tried to wrap my limited chrome handles with the apa lunar rock film. I wrapped only the chrome part. It didn't last but a day and it started to pull away from the edges. With my nonexistent wrapping skills and the fact that I couldn't get the film to wrap completely over the edges led to it pulling away.


I ended up buying gloss black overlays to cover the chrome. However, I just purchased another set and will wrap those off the vehicle and swap out the black covers currently on the tundra now.

 

Even with everything else matte, I think the black gloss tailgate handle looks good...

 

Wrapping the overlay sounds like a good idea. LMK how that goes.

 

First attempt at door handle wrap with APA Lunar Rock gloss film. From a distance it is not too bad. Up close you can see the challenges that I had with the wrap on the curved part of the handle. I plan on doing the other three this weekend so we will see how much I improve my technique.

Three observations:
1. The process absolutely requires a heat gun or hair dryer,

$5 3M Hand Applicator Squeegee PA1-B Blue

thin edge rubber squeegee and a lot of patience. Lots of heating, re-heating, stretching, and squeegee-ing
2. A sharp exacto knife. I did these after the rear bumper caps and the blade was a bit too dull to get as clean of a cut as I would like
3. Pollen season is not yet done in NC....

Did u wrap your window trim or did you replace them? Matte oem trim?

Okay. Sounds good. It looks pretty good and much cheaper than the gloss black trim. Think I’ll go order it.

 

I bought a set of these to try since they were so inexpensive. They do fit well. However, I stuck one on and found my lock button no longer worked. It would only work some of the time and only if I pressed really hard. I ended up removing and I guess I'll have to go with the expensive option that requires me to tear apart all of my doors.

 

No Mesquite handles...

Guess I will learn to love Chrome!

 

Mine still works perfectly, no hard press.

 

Second door handle turned out a little better than the first. Still some creases on the left underside. Definitely have doubts on durability.

 

I got the $50 ones from Amazon that ONLY cover the chrome. Fit is as good as can be expected, doesn't impact the unlock function. Pretty dang happy and only took about 20 minutes
