Ive done some looking on crutchfield just to get a idea on the size of all my speakers in my 2018 Non Jbl Radio. Seems like Kicker makes a KS line that has replacements for all doors, fronts at the windshield also the center. Has anyone ran these? I plan on swapping out the HU soon just wondering how good or bad these will sound off the factory amp. I know its weak.

New spwakers will not sound much better without new amp and/or head unit.

i think you should replace the head unit first and then continue on to speakers.

Yes, start with your headunit. In my old tundra I swapped in a cheap android one, and that made a huge improvement and louder too.

HU and some sound mat of some sort will be a noticeable improvement. Really tightened up the low end in the front doors.

I have the 2020 with JBL premium system. Sounded horrible and can’t believe they call that a premium system. I just switched out the head unit for a Pioneer 10” floating screen HU and the sound of the system was instantly 100 times better. Still not great, but way better. I am now waiting on my replacement speakers and amp from James at Tech12Volt to install. Then I think I’ll have it were I want it.

From my experience, I would add a 5 channel amp, front speakers and a sub first. I did so and I’m happy with the sound and the stock HU does a good job.

James recommended the JL Audio C1-650's for my replacement and I have the stock head unit and non JBL.

Did you install these? If so was there much improvement?

I have not ordered them yet. I was just going off James recommendation to me via email questions. Think there are many on here who already have them installed. Hopefully they will comment

And actually - I missed the the main section of the OP's question where he is running factory amp. So my comment may not be valid.

I’ve got them in my truck. Components in front and coaxial in the rear. Night and day over stock paper cones with no pillar tweets.

Did you install yourself or a shop? Did you have separate tweets in the rear doors like on the CM?

I am really glad I have all the new speakers and amp coming. With the new HU it does sound a lot better, but if I listen to it too loud (no even that loud), the system shuts off and says “amp error”. Gets over heated pretty quickly. Turn the truck off and restart it and it clears.

Installed myself with the adapter plate made by James @tech12volts. Rear doors do not have separate tweets.
