Specs state that the width is 80.2" (w/o mirrors), where is this dimension taken from?

Hi all, I am new to the forum and just ordered a '23 Tundra 1794. I have one question that I cannot find the answer on this forum or anywhere. What I am trying to find is the total width of the truck with the mirrors folded. My garage width is 94 inches.

When the specs state that the width is 80.2" (w/o mirrors), where is this dimension taken from? When at the dealership, I measured from the side of the truck to the tip of the mirror and it was ~8in. If I add 80.2 + 8 + 8, it comes to 96 1/4 inches which means it will not fit in my garage. However, when I "eyeballed" it from the front with a tape measure, it appears to be around 88" in width. Hence, my confusion. This seems like an important dimension to know so I wonder why it is so hard to find. Appreciate any help on this.

96" would make sense with the mirrors. That is what the F150 is. The F150 is 79.9 without the mirrors per the Ford spec documents. I would imagine the 80.2" for the Tundra is from the widest part of the body(fender flares maybe) or possibly running boards if they stick out a bit.

Can you not powerfold the mirrors as you enter the garage? Either way, trying to fit a full-size truck through a 96" door every day is going to suck. I have a single 96" door and a double door in my garage, and I put a lift to remove my leer topper off my F150 on the 96" side. Its a pretty tight squeeze even with the mirrors folded. One wrong move and its over.

I even have to fold the mirrors on my Lexus GX which is only 74" without mirrors, so 6" narrower. In fact, the reason I bought the GX vs a Seqioua was because of the garage and knowing how tight the F150 is.

Well, I answered my own question. I drove up to the dealership and they still had the 1794 (part of their rental fleet) on the grounds. I folded in the side mirrors and measured through the truck (windows down) to get an accurate measurement. Outer edge to outer edge of mirrors (when folded) was 86 inches. So it will be a tight fit (4" on each side to spare) but it will fit.
