Speed Limiter - Data

I am trying to get an idea of how different trucks have different flashes.

Please post your trucks specs:

Year: 2013
Engine: 5.7
Flash / Tuner: TRD sc
Limiter Speed: 125 (rev limiter)

Speed limited by aerodynamic drag, 4:30 gear, horse power, skill, pucker factor.

 

I have read many posts of trucks being limited at 109mph. I have read some have a higher limit.
I am trying to determine which trucks have which limits set so that we may be able to identify what is the common denominators.

It could be based on year of vehicle, or perhaps configuration or it could simply be what your ecu was flashed with.

But if you don’t post what your actual limit is, it won’t add data to the unscientific study ; )

 

DAP removed the speed limiter from mine, so that is why I said my speed is limited by aerodynamic drag, 4:30 gear, horse power, skill and pucker factor.

I believe the factory speed is computer limited to no more than 110 mph, this is primarily due to the speed rating of tires these trucks are delivered on.

DAP can leave the factory limiter in place, I requested mine be removed because I hate speed limiters.

 

Any tuner can remove limiter, dap, bullydog, unchip, ov tune all of them are similar bullydog is the cheapest and ov tune is more like a custom tune most expensive...

 

So then let’s focus on Toyota reflash for superchargers, I think there may be anomalies from things I’ve read from other owners.

 

2016 My OEM limit is right around that 109. That's as fast as it'd go off road.

 

All stock NA trucks are limited at around 110
All TRD supercharged tunes are limited at around 125
All custom tunes can have whatever speed limiter you want or none at all

430 rears at 110MPH = Wound Mighty Tight

 

My 2020 4x4 Crewmax hits the limiter at exactly 109mph.
