    Which one and why?

my last build I ran to individual switches, while it looked ok it was a big hassle running all those wires. This time around I’m looking to simplify things with one of the two mentioned units. Upon first glance I’m really leaning towards the spod, to me it just looks much cleaner and simpler than the switch pro system. If I went spod I would grab the lcd screen to go with so if anyone has feedback around that screen please let me know as well. Thanks for the feedback

Did a search couldn’t really find much so pardon me if this has been discussed before

I have the sPod with the 6 switch panel in the overhead sunglass holder and I love it! I agree as far as the spod being simpler, it was a super easy install. my neighbor has the spod with the screen in his RZR and its bad ass! makes me wish I got the LCD screen too but being I have the front bench seat I don't know where I would mount it.

Not sure what kind of settings are on the spod but with switch pros you can make your lights strobe, dim, and can control them from your phone as well.

I had this same question and ended up going with the Switch-Pros. I also got the SDHQ mount and couldn’t be happier. The mount was pretty easy and the functionality as well a the ability to customize was what pushed me to the Switch-Pros.

I think I’m going to go with the spod due to the simplicity. The new bantam has strobe and dim capabilities. I really liked the switch pro up until I saw all the bare wires you need to butt splice.

also all the threads and articles I can find online seem to have switch pros as the more advanced system ( not an electrical guru so not really sure on specifics as to why) but these were from 2018 and prior. Hard to find any updates information comparing the two. I’d imagine spod has caught up by now?

If you want ultra simplicity look at the trigger wireless. No wires through the firewall.

Only had it since April but zero issues

I was fixing to run all kinds of wires and switches into cab of truck till I ran across your post. This system simplifies everything. Fixing to order it, thanks for educating me. :hattip:

I ended up going with the trigger system. Works flawlessly and was super simply to set up. Highly recommend

I looked at all 3 options but honestly thought they were a bit bulky or too much wiring. I only needed 3 switches and thought it was much easier and take less room to simply run 3 small wires from the engine bay into the cab. All other power, ground and such wires are already in the cab. Simple setup with minimal wiring under the hood.

I just bought and received the trigger wireless system because of this thread.

I have 4 sets of lights to use but I went with the 6 trigger system for ease of expansion later if I get a fridge or on board air.

I can’t believe how easy thins thing is to use and install

Can you put the switches in an existing panel or are you stuck with theirs ?

I believe you can run your own switches but then it kinda defeats the whole wireless aspect of the install. I have the six shooter and the switches fit inside my sunglasses spot. I honestly don’t even use the switches and they have an app that lets you control the switches, it also includes strobe and dim through the app. The switches are programmable to be any color you want as well you just have to wire power to them

Thanks but I didn't ask about using my switches, I asked if their switches will fit in an existing panel. They look to be the size of carling switches. Do you happen to have a pic of the back side of the panel ?

How do you like the SPOD? I just put mine in and I love it. there doesn't seem to be much info on this model. The only issue I have is the bluetooth range doesn't seem great

For those of you with the trigger setup, did you guys fuse it to the starter so it only runs when the engine is on? If not, is the drain on the battery going to be an issue?

I’ve been running straight to the battery since I bought the unit and have never had an issue with the drain

From what it looks like, it seems like the only thing that would have drain is the wireless receiver on the unit which is probably super minimal. Looks like such an easy system to set up though! Thanks for the reply!

In my experience you will pay someone more to wire your light bars vs buying a trigger and doing it yourself

also the strobe and dimming features are pretty awesome

Interesting read for sure. I’m still not sure if either is for me. Going solely on the purpose of the vehicle, it’s a mostly daily driver but certainly long distance travel especially at night
Outside of lighting I don’t know if the juice justifies the squeeze

right there you’ve got all 8 spots of a SwitchPro 9100 used up and haven’t even done running lights or aux power for the tent or camp mood lighting

    everyone’s use case is different
I’ve currently only got two spots in use in my SP9100 but have already planned for three more.
