So I was going to purchase the trigger 6 shooter, but am questioning if it will run what I need it to. It has two 5a spots, two 10a spots , and two 30a spots. I am installing a 40inch 200w lightbar in my hood scoop/bulge area. And I think it will run on the 10a, but I haven't ran the math yet, I may need to plug it into a 30a spot .. really wish this had 20a spots , or all were 30a .. which leads me to the spod, I wasn't going to install it, due to price, but damn does it look nice, and takes up a spot that I otherwise won't use (sunglasses holder) .. but atleast the spod allows up to 30a on all of its switches... im questioning if I need the ability to go up to 30a on all switches. . . I would rather use the wireless option, even if I still have to figure out where to mount it. Curious if anyone's had experience with both? , if the 6 shooter, where did you end up mounting the remote? And was it able to meet all your lighting needs? Wish I could swap out for higher fuses, but I don't think it works like that ..

The trigger 6 shooter overhead mount is for jeep only. Encase your confused by the picture and my mounting questions

The spod says for yota 12-17, but I believe it works for my 2020 model aswell

The switches should be connected to triggers on a relay, which all you need are 5 amps as it just turns on/off the relay, while the real power comes from the battery and through the relay to the bar.

I don't believe that's correct. Because if the light draws more than 5 amps, it will pop the fuse. It doesn't take much to do that. Atleast according to the videos and posts from people who have one.

Watch this video to learn about how a relay works. it takes less than 1 amp to energize an automotive relay. The larger power needed to turn on your light goes through the secondary circuit of the relay where you can place a larger, appropriate, sized fuse in line.

Right, but my lights will be hooked up to the fuses that stand between my lights and my battery, and if it draws more than 5x 10x or 30x amps, then it will blow the fuse. With spod all 6 are 30a rather than 2x 5/2x 10/ 2x 30 from trigger

I have the six shooter and I've had to warranty it out once already. But if this fails I'll go switch pro. Aside from that range on the app kind of sucks. Wiring it up is SUPER easy. It's not the cleanest solution, but its very easy to work with.

I'm running into issues with my Six Shooter now. I've had it for about 2 years. Started having issues with it not responding to the remote switch. It'll work sometimes and then it won't respond other times. Replaced batteries. Reset it. Changed port that it's plugged into. I just installed a rear bumper with cube lights and now they're having issues too. I stand in the back and the lights sometimes turn on and sometimes doesn't.

Called AAC and they say I need to buy an antenna to expand the RF signal. What? That's not what I want to hear. At first one person told me to send the remote back. Spoke to someone else and it didn't sound like they're want to replace anything.

I'm like you. I may just go to spod if AAC doesn't want to stick behind their product.

I also have the Trigger 6 system and have had it since Q3 2019. Haven't had any issues with mine yet, although it is very finicky with the app. I do like that you can strobe and dim the lights through the app but wish there were others ways to control those features. I believe there's a battery level status as well.

As far as mounting, I placed mine on the lid for the fuse block and placed the switches on the center console area right under the lid. I used to have it facing horizontally with double-sided tape but found that either I don't have strong enough tape or I don't have the balls to drill into my center console in order for it to stay. Instead, I optioned it to be in the same spot except now it faces up. Mind you, this is still hardwired in that area so that I get the light up function unlike when it's under just the battery.

With that said, if money were no object, I would go with the SPod because it's proven. I don't regret the Trigger 6 as it meets my needs but you can't argue with something that has a lot more QC and control of their hardware/software.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I thought about 3D printing a flat backing for the switches but found out that AAC released an accessory for a magnetic back that you can use to replace the concave backing with or without the clip holders.

I took heavy duty 3M double sided tape, put a couple layers on the bottom of the base and stuck it to the left the steering wheel. Been there for a couple of years. And it's meant to work with heat, so the hot summers days doesn't make the base fall off the dash. No drilling.

I ended up with spod and I love it. I love the clickey mechanical switches. Up to 30a for all 6 spots, and with small modification I got the tundra spod mount to fit proper.

Hey @TundyFromDownUndy, SPOD also comes with a Bluetooth app that can be downloaded and will give you the ability to control all of your aux switches via your phone as well as program different modes.
    Best,
