I recently bought a used Tundra and the previous owner spilt some white paint on the factory spray-in bedliner. It's not a lot, but looks like bird poop droppings, so wanting to see about getting it removed.

Any ideas on how to remove the paint, but not damage the bedliner?

If it's latex use alcohol. It may take a while but loosen it and powerwash.

I've tried power washer, but it didn't help...

And I don't think painting it with the same color (White) will do the trick either, haha. I read somewhere to try brake fluid, but not sure about that.

Not sure if it's water or oil based paint

Always start with the most benign solvent first. Escalate as needed. You're past the water stage. Try 91% isopropyl alcohol on a rag and rub it. If it transfers to the rag it's most likely latex based. Pick a spot on the bedliner and test it as well. Rub harder and if no transfer you have your solvent. If not move to mineral spirits next.

Rustoleum makes a spray bed liner (it comes in a rattle can) - i would do that to cover the paint before I started throwing all kinds of chemicals on the existing bedliner. Some of them might eat away the liner inadvertently.

Ultimate Linings, out of Houston, TX, used to be the manufacurer of the spray in bedliner products.
I assume they still are ????
They have a conditioner for the bedliner and I was told not to get in on the paint because it will take it off.

This might work in your situation, i do not know though.
