    Hello

Maybe someone here has experienced this too and already knows what's causing it?

On occasion a squeak starts coming from the front passenger side. Sometimes it's almost constant for more than 10 minutes. It only squeaks when the ventilation fan is on (sounds roughly the same no matter the fan speed).

I pulled out the cabin air filter to check if it's that fan, but of course as soon as I stop the car and go to the other side - the squeak stops. I don't see/feel any obstructions in the air path there, and the fan appears to work fine when I inspect it.

Any idea what it could be? I'm worried that if I go to the dealer they won't be able to reproduce the problem and that will be a big waste of my time :(

    Thanks in advance.

Could be the fan, easy to replace if so. Crud, leafs and such will get in there too, so pull the filter and see if you can see anything in there, maybe feel around- truck and fan off of course. Crud or leaf usually makes a clicking noise as it vibrates or contact the blades, since yours is a squeak, probably the fan being noisy on occasion. Toyotas can tend to do this, especially in cold weather

Thanks for the links. I'm surprised this is a known issue. Seems like something Toyota should have fixed by now. I'll try with the dealer, see if they'll fix it. Good tip to film it since the problem can't be reproduced on demand.
