Hi all, my 24' SR5 Crewmax has no courtesy lights on the interior door panel when opened. There is a red reflector on each front door at bottom 3rd of door towards the back. My question is can they be replaced with a working door light? Do higher trims have lights installed there? Anyone know if wiring harness has a circuit included in SR5's already? Thanks for any help.

Hey there, I have an SR5 as well hoping for the same thing. You can pop those covers out and check to see if there is a wire and connector back there in that void. The covers are very easy to pop out. I read another thread that mentioned that.

I tried it and no luck... I think some Limited trims have the red reflectors there but have wires there as well to add the puddle lights but our SR5s don't have the wires.

I recall and SR5 owner running wires. Can’t find the post or thread.

No wiring for puddle lights on the SR5 trim. Another miss by Toyota in my opinion. I'd be fine if they skipped the puddle lights on the SR5 trim. But without the harness, adding them is much more difficult. How much did they save losing the lights and harness? Not much.

Looks like adding a light into the door the easy way isn't an option. I may look into mounting some LED lights underneath near the running board/steps or down light on top of the bed.
