SR5 not on recall list??

Hello all! New here.
I spoke with a Yota “advocate” earlier today. He stated that the SR5 was not on the recall list, which I don’t believe since most likely other SR5 owners have received the recall notice on their app. However, someone else here earlier posted that his SR5 with the same build date as mine, 1/23, was also not on the recall list based on the VIN. As others have stated, it may just be a matter of time. Can any other SR5 owners with similar build dates attest to this?

 

I have an SR5 with the 24TA07 recall. Build date 2/22.

 

Maybe your advocate meant the SR, which has the same engine, but in a lower state of tune....

 

I have a 2022 SR5 but build date if 6/22. Have the current 24TA07 recall. Just opened my app and seen it. 30k but no issues so far so wait and see what Toyota says.

 

My SR5 is on the list.

 

Don’t have my build date but bought in December 2022 (2023 SR5) and it’s in on the recall list.

 

It’s based on Hybrid and non Hybrid. Hybrids seem to not be included in the recall. Trim doesn’t matter.

 

I have a '22 SR5 (bought new in early March '22), it IS on the recall list. My engine (~28k miles) failed a few days before the recall came out.

 

Did someone already mention its not just based on trim, but on build date/VIN? SR5 doesnt come in hybrid, so if it falls within the impacted build dates, then it qualifies for the recall. If you dont see it in the app, then you are not included in the recall as of today.

Doesnt mean your engine cant/wont blow up though

 

Do you know if SR's are also included?

 

interesting....so the lower HP rating doesnt impact bearing clearances but being an HV does

 

same...smaller fires are easier to contain

 

Update: 6/8. SR5 TRD Off Road, 4x2, build date, 1/23. 13k. Just one issue, squeaking brakes while backing up.

No recall notice on my app or on the gov website as of yet. As stated by a previous post, this may be a staged recall. However, my build date falls within the range of build dates of this initial stage, if so. Still in limbo.

Looks like I am just outside the recall cutoff with a build date of 5/2023. So far so good….

 

Update: 6/27. SR5 TRD Off Road, 4x2, build date, 1/23. 13,500.

The recall mentions certain engine configurations of the V35A twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 gas engine. Does anyone know how many configurations this engine has?

No recall notice on my app or on the gov website as of yet. The build date of 1/23 falls within the range of the initial recall.

 

I have a TRD OR SR5 with a 1/23 build date and my vin does not show the recall yet either.

 

We have similar trucks. Mine is still not on the recall list, either.
The Yota advocate mentioned the TRD configuration was not on the list but he didn’t sound confident and could not explain why. I’m sure the trucks all have the same engine or is the TRD a slightly different configuration? Maybe others with a similar TRD SR5 trim and build date (1/23) can chime in.

 

TRD Pro is not on the list....because its a hybrid...TRD Sport/Offroad can be on the list in non-HV configuration

 

My 23 SR5 with TRD off road is on the recall list. October 22 build date.

 

Aren’t the SR or SR5’s de tuned for lower HP/TQ?

To chime in and add stats my SR5 is not on the list. 2022, idk the build date.

 

The recall is based on engine serial number, not VIN or vehicle assemble date. Toyota appears to have isolated specific engines impacted by whatever the root cause is. If a vehicle has a suspect engine associated to specific VIN, it's on the recall list. This is why all vehicle in the defined date range are not recalled.
